I didn't like the ending. It had 'Sequel' written all over it.
WONDEROUSLY WELL SAID.
THANKS TONS.
SO RT U R!
And he succeeded.
Very well said.
You seem unwilling or unable to acknowledge the large degree to which values and morals influence tastes.
"It's not a political movie, it's a religious movie."
In Hollywood, that's worse !
VERY BEAUTIFULLY AND TRULY SAID.
THX.
Much agree on both counts.
Depends on one's definition of "worthwhile."
It's worth it to me to know I'm acting consistent with my values.
It's worth it to me to know that I'm not paying and supporting the further destruction of morality, family, public integrity etc.
It's worth it to me to know that I'm supporting excellent historical examples of priceless events depicting God's caring for the world.
It's worth it to me to know that I'm making a statement against the hideous values so persistently rubbed in honorable people's face in the form of very stinky hollyweed pig poop.
It's worth it to me to know that I'm not encouraging children to be deluded by hollyweed hideocies.
It's worth it to me to know that I'm choosing this day whom I will serve and it's NOT ANY of the gods of hollyweed.
It's worth it to me to know that I'm honoring Mel's excellent glaring example of true spirituality and integrity as well as personal courage.
. . .
. . .
Nothing new.
It has been having quite an effect on people for 2000 years now.
BUMP
Wonderful paragraphs. Thanks tons.
Your analysis rings much closer to truth with me.
Truer words were never printed.
Frankly I don't care if H Weird recognizes his work now. Gibson will do just fine without it. My only dog in this fight is that it shows what a morally bankrupt society Hwood is.
Well said, well said.
THE RESURRECTION is hard to depict.
I suspect the major sequel will be done by God almighty on the emulsion sheets of the minds of the world's citizens.
It's yet to occur, much less be made a movie of.
THX.
I don't treat anything (including American movies) as monolithic. There's good and bad everywhere. I wasn't 'dissing' Mel's film at all. If it clarified and sharpened your faith then all the more power to you. I hope Mel makes many more religious themed films because, as I said, it's a gap in the marketplace that deserves to be filled. Regards.
The movie that's sweeping all the awards this year seems to be 'Sideways'. Hardly the sort of attack you describe.
