"better that they are on our side ..."

Yes, but that doesn't obligate us, even politically obligate us, to invite them to perform.

Certainly Bush shouldn't choose the all the performers.
But people who reflect and care about Bush's, and his supporters', values should be able to VETO performances by inappropriate acts. And in fact should.

Do you know what song it is that Kid Rock would be performing in order to deem it inappropriate?

I'm not so sure that people that feel as you do are the only ones who support President Bush. FWIW, I do believe that patriotism and support of the troops ARE Bush's values. What makes folks like you (no matter how upstanding) worthy of a veto that people who disagree with you are not? That smacks of snobbery and entitlement, imo.

No offense, but you don't get priority on President Bush's agenda any more than I do. The American people as a whole do. Potty mouths and all.

The problem is with the word "us", as if we Christians who hate Kid Rock have a monopoly on the Republican party. You've been around long enough to know that ain't the case. In addition, many Christian republicans also like crummy rap or rock & roll. So relax. I'll crank on my Miles Davis CD and mute the TV if the Kid starts singing. on
