Kid Rock at Inaugural 'Shocking'
NewsMax.com ^ | Jan. 6, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

A scheduled appearance by vulgar rock-rapper Kid Rock at a Bush inauguration concert hosted by Bush daughters Jenna and Barbara has shocked conservative supporters.

The rapper’s lyrics often focus on the recreational nature of sex and send a message of female sexual exploitation. In 2000 he appeared in a porn film with well-known porn stars, and he was named the Sluttiest Male Celebrity by MTV.

According to Donald E. Wildmon, chairman of the American Family Association, the White House has sent a shocking statement to the millions of families who supported his re-election.

"Kid Rock is an inexcusable choice,” Wildmon said. "His music lyrics serve to teach our young men to disrespect women in a most vile, self serving manner. There's no compassionate conservatism in that philosophy.”

"Obviously, someone on the Presidential Inauguration Committee has made an extremely poor judgment call. The Committee should cancel this invitation immediately,” Wildmon said.

Kid rock was chosen to appear because he was a supporter of President Bush's re-election campaign.

From the MSM article...."Despite press reports originating in the New York Times that rock-rapper Kid Rock would perform at the Bush inauguration, the Presidential Inauguration Committee now says the vulgar entertainer is "not confirmed" to appear at the celebration's youth concert."

Hey calm down... I actually like Wildmon, but the fact that the story "BROKE" from the left-wing NY Times leads me to question ANY article or legitimacy of their reporting. If there's any possible angle that left-wing rag NY Times can exploit to smear Bush on anything, these scurvy left-wing RAT b@$tards would do it.

Boone's version of "Panama", and "The Wind Cries Mary" sound marvelous with that big band arrangement.

Condemning Bush, the republican Party or Kid Rock for his appearance smacks a bit too much of self-righteousness for me. It is like saying, "We only need the 'right kind' of people to support America."

I think, as long as he behaved himself at the event itsaelf, he should be welcome. Nobody in their right mind will think that the Bush administration supports Kid's antics; people are smart enough to tell the difference.

For the record, I'm a Christian and I'm telling these people to cool it about attempting to ostracize Kid Rock. It would be wise not to assume the majority of Christians are in an uproar over this event, and tell us to "get a grip".

I like GWB just fine, and voted for him, and would do it again...

But this sounds just like one of his misguided (IMHO) "reach out" moves, like inviting P-Diddy into the WH, or having Muslims practice their demonic religion in the WH.

I live in Austin and believe me when I say Jenna and Barbara are no saints. However, neither was I when I was their age and I turned out pretty good! Neither was our good President and probably isn't a total saint now! One reason young people are turned off to Christianity is because there not much we can do but eat! The Bushes attended a very liberal Methodist church here in Austin and I'm not sure the girls ever even went to church. Let's just let them decide what to do and we all know Girls Just Want To Have Fun!!!!

He'll grow out of it.

He already has. The Kid Rock of 2000 (where most of the complainers are drawing their material from) is a lot different from the Kid Rock of today.

So what. So am I. I still say "get a grip!" If the shoe doesn't fit you then quit forcing your foot into it.

Gee,

I'm conservative, pro-family, and Christian.

I also believe that being all those things doesn't mean that you have to be a fascist about it. I also believe that as a conservative, pro-family, Christian you have to take RESPONSIBILITY! If you object to the material it doesn't mean that you need to grab your pitchforks and torches to go storming the castle.

But that you can chose to avoid the material and to educate your family as to your objections with it or to shelter your family from it.

But I guess such a degree of self accountability and common sense is asking to much of a "conservative, pro-family, Christian".....

"How about 'in addition to' rather than a substitute for?"

Didn't give you the rest of the info on the 'Whisky-a-Go-Go' "gals" Inaugural Show. They're NOT.

Change the equation a bit? ;-)

What's the difference between dog sh*t and horse sh*t?

The barf bag is still figures prominently either way.

Christians concerned about crap our society spews out are the ones exhibiting responsibility.

And so folks disgaree with you. No need to display your liberalism by labeling them "fascist".
