The House NEVER convenes before noon..it's a standing rule

I think that's been changed for some of this year. They're going to meet 90min earlier to get morning business out of the way so it doesn't eat up normal time.

CNN has on it's legal expert, Jeffrey Toobin, explaining the Andrea Yates "Breaking News" news blast for the day. Toobin explains her lawyer might request bail, but the prosecution probably won't allow that to happen, even though it looks like she will get a new trial.

Andrea Yates' mother was on earlier saying her daughter didn't want a new trial because she might get the death penalty if she lost. From MSNBC's Dan Abram, there's no way at a new trial, Yates could get the death penalty. Because of a law, (not sure if it's state or federal), no defendent can get more penalty on re-trial than was given out at the first trial.

And if my Andrea Yates update on this thread is aggravating, just think how it's ticking off the democrats who wanted to make hay of this hearing, their time to look tough. .
