Sick Bed, New York Nothing is in writing and daybreak is a long way away, but it appeared all but certain in early evening Wednesday that House Democrats had secured the support of up to half a dozen Senators to formally challenge the Electoral College slate from Ohio, when the votes are opened before a joint session of Congress tomorrow.
Congressional sources tell this reporter that the house half of the written objection which has the declared support of more than a dozen Representatives is expected to be signed by Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio. Republican leadership expects the Senate signatory to be Barbara Boxer of California, but this has not yet been formalized. The Majority is also worried about the possible absence of many of its members in both houses, and the prospect that a quorum might not be achieved, leading the process into uncharted, albeit not very threatening, constitutional grounds. There is a mathematical, if not practical, chance that the ratification of the Electoral College vote could be delayed past tomorrow.

Real reason why he's doing it...his ratings have shot up since he's been feeding the fantasies of the DU crowd.
At least he has an audience now, so why not keep them happy.
Smoke Screen
What I would like to know is what they are trying to hide with it, first guess is the Washington Gov fiasco, but that is too obvious, what (else) is going on in the Senate that they might want to sneak by or hide?
Got my letter from Kay Bailey Hutchinson today, she has spoken with Spectorium and intends to hold him to his word.
(Wish some of the elected Republican Males would grow some the size that she wields)
I thought about that scenario. You wouldn't see a coup because those that are armed would remind the politicians why the 2nd ammendment was created.
I know my Senaor Jon Kyl will laugh in their faces, but what will McCain do???? Hmmmmmm Nah, even HE won't lower himself to take part in this nonsense.
That would be SENATOR Kyl
The only thing I have heard is that Sen. Frist and a delegation were going to go to SE Asia on a fact finding trip, I guess. Unless he is going as a doctor, which I doubt.
I know it was mentioned that he was leaving on Thursday, but as Majority Leader, I would think it would be bad form to miss this "ceremonial" (at least it is supposed to be) vote!!! If he is gone and has taken some Rep. Senators, then he will have 2 blackmarks already, the other being not setting the dems straight on filibusters. Instead he is giving them "another chance".
BTW, wouldn't it be funny if someone sent John Kerry a fake e-mail telling him to hurry back to USA, cause the election in Ohio has been overturned and HE, John Kerry, is really the president? I think that would be hilarious if someone could be there to see his reaction!!!
I suppose I should be glad they're digging themselves into a hole, but I'm getting tired of the idiocy of some of these people.
I think he's been smoking Labador.
Can you even imagine the hissy-fit the little priss would be throwing if the Republicans ever pulled a stunt like this???
Frist is busy with the tsunami victims. He's travelling with Mary Ann Landrieu.
Are the DUmmies having premature orgasms like they did with the exit polls?
I love that link on their front page to the lengthy diatribe from Skinner exclaiming "We are not kooky tsunami conspiracy theorists! The New York Times lies!"
Spell-check is your friend LOL.
Of course, if Kerry had won we wouldn't be hearing a peep about voting "problems" etc.
I see our good friends on the other side want to make a complete ass of themselves. The more I think about it, the more I think it would lead to the demolition of the Democrats in 2006. BRING IT ON!
Isn't it amazing how their four-year-long overwhelming hatred of the Electoral College evaporated in the span of just a few hours on November 2, 2004?
Leftover Pizza: Check
Beer: Check
Dug out television instruction book for directions for split screen viewing: Check and done
I am ready to watch the meltdown tomorrow. By the way what word do we chug the beer on during the debates.
Who's going to start the live thread?
THIS is going to be better than Christmas. Oh wait, it is little Christmas. LOL
Yep. Even Janet Reno had bigger nads than any Republican on the Hill and hers were made of plastic.
