There's no point in running Conyers out of town. He'd just be replaced by another wingnut. Other than run his mouth, he can't do anything.

Well, Conyers can't contest the election alone.. and it is looking like the Boxer thing was a hoax. I think even she understands there would be long lasting repercussions to her party.

by voting, I think you are missing what I am saying. When he challenges it, the house will voice vote his resolution down. It wont even be close. Something similar will happen in the Senate too.

I wasnt talking about Gerrymandering. That isnt something that anyone should be doing no matter if you agree or not.

But Congress won't ever throw out one of their own for something as silly as this. He isnt breaking any laws by being obnoxious.....

Not gonna happen.

Let's not act like the idiots on DUhhh and pretend like we can make the impossible happen here. Unlike them, let's not waste our time on fruitless efforts. Let's find something that is realistic.

"While there are no specific grounds for an expulsion expressed in the Constitution, expulsion actions in both the House and the Senate have generally concerned cases of perceived disloyalty to the United States, or...."

There doesn't need to be illegal behavior, just perceived disloyalty.

Personally I think Conyers is the smartest person in the Congressional Black Caucus.

Expulsion over AWOL turkeys? Even if it could be proven that he was directly responsible, the most that annoying village idiot would get is probation. Although, I'd love to see him thrown out of office and tossed in the hoosegow for a few years, myself.

The oath of office required by the sixth article of the Constitution of the United States, and as provided by section 2 of the act of May 13, 1884 (23 Stat. 22), to be administered to Members, Resident Commissioner, and Delegates of the House of Representatives, the text of which is carried in 5 U.S.C. 3331:

I, Loyal Citizen of the Republic, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
