I was just listening to that; I hope he testifies!
Did you hear Matthews claim that there's always "hell" coming out of Cheney's office?!
It made me go pour a glass of wine. I'm serious.
Then I come back and he's mocking what Frank Gaffney said on his program yesterday.
Good grief. Lindsay Graham being good (I'm irritated that he helped hype Abu Ghraib but I understand what he's saying even while I don't agree with all) and he's firmly supporting the war and Gonzales to Chris (who will probably mock him later when another guest sympathetic to Chrissy is on).
Gonzales advocates it, as well as many others. I question whether or not it works. Witches were asked to confess also, on pain of death. If someone held a gun to my head or tortured me, I might admit to doing something I didn't to save my life, and many people would.
All of the discussion on torture has omitted one thing--does it work to get at the truth? Perhaps it would work if you wanted to pin something on someone for political reasons though, and if that is the goal, then torture would be effective.
