My wife just found out today that she is pregnant. I am about to be a Father (again) at the age of 43. My wife is 40 and is considered high risk. For some, that fact alone justifies an abortion. For me, even though this was an unplanned pregnancy, I will do everything in my power to help make this yet-to-be-born child's journey towards birth as safe and uneventful as possible.
When it comes down to it, all that matters is life and our responsibility to protect it.

I gotta admit that I clicked on your webpage and thought, "Man, that guy looks a lot older than 43!" I scrolled down though and figured it out.
Congrats on the baby. That's wonderful news.

all that matters is life and our responsibility to protect it. Congratulations! Children are indeed a gift from God. All life is precious.
BTW - my neighbors had their 2nd child last year, 17 years after their first. The older one is now in college and the youngest one is barely a toddler. The parents are still glowing!

No doubt you are a great father who takes the job seriously. I pray for your baby and wife's health. It's great to see that you'll follow through despite the "high-risk".
My wife's got mega-nausea sickness that seems worse than the first time, but she is toughing it out. In a way, it's a wake-up call for me as I've had to be the one who does everything! - just as well since it will be this way when #2 shows up.

I pray and Im sure your wife will be just fine.
I went to Catholic school and half my classmates had mothers who had a kid over 40 (oldest was 46)
And in my own family plenty of anecdotal stories of women having easy pregnancies from late 30s to early 40s by 'accident'.
