Trio of storm systems could have devastating impact on U.S.

Knight Ridder Newspapers

Moisture-laden storms from the north, west and south are likely to converge on much of America over the next several days in what could be a once-in-a-generation onslaught, meteorologists forecast Tuesday.

If the gloomy computer models at the U.S. Climate Prediction Center are right, we'll see this terrible trio:

One question

Which disaster will feature Jim Cantori first? Will it be the Arizona floods, or the Nebraska blizzard, or the swearing in of Arlen Specter?

Meanwhile here in Minnesota we've had the least amount of snow ever recorded.

Must be a lot of frustrated snowmobile owners...

Afterward, the survivors all died from second hand smoke and excess fast food consumption. :O)

Must be a lot of frustrated snowmobile owners...

And resort owners, people who make money towing and plowing, and all of the snowmobile and snoblower retailers. So many people depend on the snow here.

The Day After Tomorrow was really an interesting movie. The science was stoopid, but the special effects were awesome! Giant storms caused the tidal wave that swept into NY, then later a huge immediate freeze came over the city, causing all that water in the streets to freeze over, and the waves still crashing to freeze in the air.

Since this is a southern storm and I just caught SNL on E!, name the storm after the great Confederate warrior Colonel Angus (spoken in southern drawl)

My excuse for such childish behavior is a fever from another episode of the flu and about three days worth of cold weather thunderstorms keeping me up at night.

Hey! I don't mind snow - part of life in the Midwest. I'm all set to get up at 6am and shovel the driveway in time for hubby and the kids to go to school. The trees need the snow on the ground for protection, esp. since this fall was relatively dry for us here. I see my hometown (Pontiac) is mentioned in that forecast ;-).
