Unbelievable. Why do we even bother working so hard to get Reps elected?

I can only take this as a signal that they will also cave on judicial nominations.

Human Events article says they need 67!!!! votes to stop the fillibuster if they didn't vote today when they needed 51??? Frist doesn't even have anything approaching 51 votes then and the Republicans can forget ever putting anybody on the Supremes except somebody to the left of Schumer. They can also get ready for some big losses in '06 if this is true. I cannot imagine leaving these nitwits in power. From the looks of this, they couldn't get the job done with 80 Republican votes. They are hopeless and they cannot expect to fool conservatives into voting for them again.

This could be strategery...or it could be a cave.

Or it could be a cave masquerading as stratergery, or strategery masquerading as a cave, and so on....

IMHO its a bit too early to tell. Well have a good idea once its time to replace Rehnquist.

There is one thing that IS certain, however.

At this time next year, we will be looking at the legislative track record of this congress. We will be looking at judges nominated, and judges approved. We will judge what our mandate has provided us.

We're not looking for miracles, but we want to see tasks started and effort expended.

There will not be any way to logically or credibly spin the assessment.

I see Frist has had a bilateral orchiectomy. I'm sure the RATS will kiss it to ease the pain.

"Our Democratic colleagues have new leadership, and in the spirit of bipartisanship, I want to extend my hand across the aisle."

My contempt for this senator can only be expressed adequately by terms unprintable on this forum. I can only pray, doubtingly, that he has some strategery that will, in time, redeem this monumentally stupid statement as being, in fact, part of a clever ruse.

I'm sure that, due to this kind gesture, the Democrats will take heart in the future and never use such rules changes to give themselves the advantage.

Maybe because he filibustered a Clinton nominee in 1996? He's just no good.

BUMP this outrage.
I simply can't get over this....
Turns out Frist is a spineless wimp. Who'd a thunk?

Who can be surprised. No one who follows politics can be deceived about what this means. Frist is telling the President to take his nominees and put them where the sun doesn't shine. Frist needs to go.

Too bad they did not publish the names of the people of which Hitlery has the FBI files.
This might explain some of the anti American votes.
