January 4, 2005 -- Relatives of 9/11 victims vowed yesterday to press Congress to tighten the borders and crack down on illegal immigration. "We're going to hold their feet to the fire," Joan Molinaro, a member of 9/11 Families for a Secure America, said during a press conference at Ground Zero.
Members of the group, which represents families of 300 people who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, said they wanted to remind Congress, which convenes today, that it must revisit border security and tighter identification requirements for visas and driver's licenses.
The group joined Rep. James Sensenbrenner (Wis.), House Judiciary Committee chairman, and some other prominent Republicans last year in a failed attempt to include measures against illegal immigration in the intelligence bill that President Bush signed last month.
Sensenbrenner is expected to re-introduce the legislation today.
Families for a Secure America has charged that the failure to keep out unauthorized aliens led directly to the 9/11 attacks.
The group calls the problem of illegal entry into the country "massive" and warns that it has grown over the past 30 years.

crew the Rats; Republicans own all three branches of the legislature.
Time for them to stand up and fight for what conservatism is supposed to stand for: rule of law, protect our sovereign borders, respect for citizenship, etc.
It's the courts that keep fighting the people; IE: AZ's Prop 200.

damn good post there JAS!
PING to "Just Another Savage" post.
He pretty well covers the entire OBL crowd's personal ad homonym attacks:
..."you find, after being a patriotic, religious, conservative, self-reliant, first amendment type your entire life, that you are now a racist, xenophobic, idiot, undereducated moronic, lazy, Mexican/Bush hating Buchananite anti-semite isolationist...." Michelle Malkin wrote about people who critisize proponents of secure borders here:
Michelle Malkin: "Activists smear anyone who wants better borders"

What the 9th may or may not do regarding prop 200 is irrelevant.
If implemented, prop 200 is not going to make very many, if any, illegals get up and leave.

"Fact Sheet: Fair and Secure Immigration Reform " The sleaze and dishonesty of this administration on this issue is breathtaking.
They roll out a plan that blesses and encourages massive illegal immigration and they all it "secure".
They seek to cram down our throats a scheme that's a kick in the teeth to every legal immigrant, wait-listed immigrant, and visa-refusee who played by the rules - and they have the nerve to call it "fair".
These lies speak to the character of those uttering/stuttering them.

"FROBLs, though they proclaim their superiority in every way over YOU, only have one vote, too. " And at the moment they are very much the minority along with the libs who love illegals.

I think if we keep writing, calling, and generally harassing them, the Congress and Whitehouse will have to take action. I send letters, email, and faxes weekly. They know me by name and address. I don't care if they think I'm a pain in the posterior! I tell my Senators and Representatives in each posting that I helped elect them (OK, so I kind of fudge the truth with the Dems), and I can select the next time to vote for them or not. It is their choice.

"The insults and stings many of us have received from the open borders Bush worshiping crowd only reinforce my belief that in some way they benefit from illegal immigration."
Of course they do...it's called lobbyists, big business, special interests, or family left behind in a foreign land. You wouldn't be against a plan to protect our borders if you didn't have something to gain by it IMHO.

We have got to start somewhere. I get tired of hearing defeatist attitudes like the one you've just expressed: "This won't work, that won't work; we can't seal our borders, we can't keep illegals out, etc. That's negative thinking.
Don't declare defeat before we've really tried.
This cartoon says it all:
