The war will be over soon. The biggest contingent of Texas National Guardsmen since WWII left Texas for Iraq the day after Christmas. The city of Waco and their loved ones gave them a huge send-off from the Baylor football stadium. Our Texas men still know how to shoot, and we Texas women aren't bad marksmen ourselves. We'll keep the ranches going and the lights on in the cabins till our men come home victorious.
"Marine Snipers are Pro Choice".

Two or three years ago there was a thread about a sniper in Israel who picked off someone at over 1200 yards.
That's the one I read. I knew virtually nothing about snipers before I read that. To be honest, I thought I was going to be bored to death with the book before I started it. Not even close. It was fascinating.
We know he hasn't
...only a slight exageration.
Right in front of him another got up on his knees looking to try and find out where we were so I dropped him too.
Abdul, what happened? This can't be.. thud.
Don't show your ignorance, there were confirmed kills at 2 miles in Vietnam. If want to dispute any of this go find a Marine in your area and complain about this being a bunch of crap, your education in Marine Corps matters will begin.
Yes, it was pretty much a rhetorical question. I had already read his posting history.
BTTT
I have on numerous occasions shot WWII-era rifles at a range of 300 yards and hit within the target -- and this is without using a scope. I see no reason someone with sniper training, a modern, very accurate rifle, good ammunition, and a scope should not be able to hit a target the size of a human torso at 1,000 yards. I imagine for this Marine sniper that 300 yards is child's play, 600 yards is no big deal, and 1,000 yards is good work but not extremely difficult. Expecially when the enemy just stupidly stands out in the open looking for a sniper!
Might want to check and make sure your hospitalization policy is still in effect.
"Abdul, I am going to go stand out in the middle of that field and look for snipers! Please hold my beer!"
Marine Bump!
You're thinking of HATHcock
This is a HANcock...
I wont say it...
Does anyone know if a mere civilian can get that type of rifle? I imagine that set up (rifle, scope) is expensive.
"Don't worry. Both the story and the name are not real"
What? Are you saying this was made up?
Do I smell Ozone. . .
Moron, Marine snipers REGULARLY train shooting at man sized targets at 1000 yds. The target is 40" tall by 20" wide. Maybe if you stopped getting your info from moveon.org, you'd have a clue.
