Good night all.
Good evening, Grammie. Did you work today?
Thank you to all who expressed sympathy, prayers, and other sentiments regarding my maternal uncle's recent passing.
My cousin Rex, himself a Vietnam Vet, wrote to tell me that he visited the Canteen to read your comments; he thanks you as well.

I'm hoping that I can convince Rex to join us to share more information about my uncle's/his father's WWII service; however, Rex told me tonight that he's having major computer problems and isn't sure how soon he'll have time to get back online. (He said it looks like a new computer will be in his future, but isn't sure how soon that will happen. I'm going to e-mail this to him in the hopes that it's sooner rather than later.)
Good evening backatcha! I did work today...!
God Bless your Uncle Alfred, He sounds as if he was a resourceful fellow.
Do you have any Idea where he served in the Pac theatre?
My (step)Grandad was in Burma, we lost him day prior to Thanksgiving a 2 years back.
LOL
I know what you mean...
Lucretia is one BAAAAAD car...
One time, this bone head in a pick up was tailing me so close..
I couldn't see his headlights in my rearview mirror..
We came upon a sharp curve...
I dropped her down into third gear and stood on her..
his tires were chirpin' trying to catch her..
That truck was all over the place..
he ended up in a ditch...
LOL
Sweet!
Ms.B
And how is the computer doing? Still raining? It's been raining here. My parking lot was VERY difficult to negotiate, and I didn't make a turn in my neighborhhod. No other cars and a snowbank to end the slide. The streets and just plain wet, but parking lots and neighborhood streets are ice skating rinks.
LOL
Well it's about time!!
Love and healing hugs to you, Poetess!!
ms.B
L0L! thats the stuff!
Power, beauty and finnese!
Oh Fawnn....I'm so sorry for your loss.
My new computer is cookin'!!! But then....I'm the only one who's used it so far. (gulp)
It's been raining, yes. Pretty hard overnight and into the morning. We had sprinkles on & off during the day.
It DID let up this afternoon for awhile....but I'm not complaining about this rain. I LOVE CA winters when they're like this. It's cold enough (well....) to justify wearing a sweater, but it's not HORRIBLY cold like we had in the midwest!
Hey! I KNOW you!!!!
How ya doing????
Unfortunately, I'm not sure where all he served in the Pacific.
I do know that he contracted maleria in WWII. He survived that for a long time, but it was a contributing factor in his passing as it caused his liver to harden.
I believe he received more than one purple heart, too. (Because I'm mostly homebound, I've lost so much contact with relatives. I wish I could advise more.)
Lucretia has the Euro headlights.
Mike put a Techtronics exhaust on her too
A work in progress...
She's my Baby
Thank you.
??
Fawnn, anyone...I HAD it somewhere...what's the name of the website where you can "register" a WWII Vet?
