MIAMI --
The area around the U-Haul has been cordoned off.
Miami Police have evacuated the Graham Building and the Metro Justice building in Miami after witnesses reported seeing an unidentified person run away from a U-Haul truck.
Police have cordoned off the area around the truck. The bomb squad has responded and sent a robot to investigate the truck. It peered in the window with a camera to feed back video to police.
Motorists may want to avoid the area, which is around 1350 NW 12 Ave.
Local 10 News has a crew at the scene and Sky 10 over it.
Outstanding breaking news post award of the day!
sarcasm on or off? LOL.
Anyone checking the rental records on the truck?
What the heck? Thats right down the street from where I am right now....
Probably some idiot trying to break into the vehicle and then ran away when he was seen.
Thank you and please keep us posted. Here's hoping that someone was just in a hurry.
Great! We can get a Freeporter on the scene!
No sarcasm intended at all. This is one of the things I love about FR--Just now on Fox News, but FR had it FIRST!
Driver used a fake ID to get the U-haul, had an altercation with another driver at the scene, parked it badly...
Good post.
FoxNews:
Driver used fake ID to rent the van this morning.
Driver had minor altercation with a car, fender-bender; driver left van and left scene (apparently on foot?).
Bump for more info.....thanks for posting.
Fake ID? Oh, lovely.
Suspicious Truck Forces Two Building Evacuations
POSTED: 11:59 am EST January 3, 2005
UPDATED: 12:14 pm EST January 3, 2005MIAMI -- Two buildings have been evacuated in Miami after police discovered a suspicious truck parked in front of the state attorney's office.
A bomb squad is on its way to the scene to inspect the U-Haul truck.
The Miami courthouse and state attorney's office on Northwest 12th Avenue were evacuated at about 11:30 a.m.
A section of downtown Miami is closed on 12th Street from 12th Avenue to 14th Avenue. Thirteenth Avenue is closed from 12th to 14th Street.
So, was the driver, shall we say...swarthy?
Freeporter? More like a Freep Runner LOL! If that thing is packed with explosives (Note, that is just idle speculation), I dont wanna be anywhere near it!
Still doesn't smell right.
Unknown. Used fake ID.
Where's your curiosity? Where's your sense of adventure? Where's your complete lack of common sense? (/grin)
I recall something similar happening in Arizona several months back... turned out the truck was full of illegal aliens.
REALLY...as soon as Fox News broke the report I shot for the puter to see who on FR was close to what was happening.
News Media is pretty much obsolete at this point...lol.
