Waiting for a saviour who will never return is like watching the water recede before one's very eyes and hoping that you will discover sunken treasure on the wet sand in front of you.

Pointless, dangerous, futile, stupid and sad.

NOT WAITING EAGERLY

for The SAVIOR; THE CHRIST, THE MESSIAH

Who will CERTAINLY RETURN AND BY ALL EVIDENCE, IN OUR ERA

is more like deciding on a Saturday morning to go to the WalMart entrance about noon

unhinge one's skull and dump one's brains out just for the h*ll of it.

Given the abundance of evidence already--plus the enormous amount between now and His return--if you still have such a death grip on your addiction to a TYPE II error, you will deserve the destination you have thereby chosen.

1. Anyone who's had an experience of Christ will tell you they've discovered sunken treasure on the wet sand in front of them already.

2. Pointless, dangerous, futile, stupid and sad for whom? For me? I appreciate your concern, but I'm not all that dangerous. Stupid? Certainly! Sad? Actually, I'm amazingly happy, but thanks for being sad for me. It's nice to know that someone, other than Christ and my wife, children, and grandchildren is concerned for my welfare....

Violent reactions to the religious and religion always bewilder me... Befuddle, actually. Some of the happiest people I have ever met are religious. For that, I envy them.

I see that you would rather swim the Red Sea than walk across on the path the Lord laid for you. Good luck on your journey.

Wow, you joined this forum late last year just to inject your Christian-bashing ?

How sad, when this site is notable for the warm, supportive relations between Christians and Jews.

Maybe you'd be more comfortable somewhere else.

Try Democratic Underground (DU).

See how friendly they are to Israel-supporters there.

Interesting analogy given who the "sea" is washing over in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Any time the Muslims get cocky about destroying America is a good time to remind them the score is 2-0 and we haven't even instituted a draft.

You have VERY much misunderstood Christ's charge to us and the Christian faith as a whole. Christians aren't waiting for anything. We have been given specific tasks-- to love God, to love our neighbor as ourselves, to feed Christ's sheep, to preach Christ risen to all nations-- and instructed to get on with it. NO ONE but God (not even Jesus Christ) knows the day or hour of His return-- we are merely told to always be ready. A life spent following Christ is active, dynamic and joyful. He is indeed the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

That some Christians focus on end times does not change the truth of our instructions. I myself believe that it is a great sin that opens the door to other sins (some of them the sorts of spiritual sins that are the worst of all sins) -- spiritual pride, despair, loss of faith, and on and on.

Non-Christians who gratuitously bash Christians around here are encouraged to go elsewhere.

The same goes for antisemites.
