My New Year's resolutions(by Joseph Farah)
WorldNetDaily ^ | 12/31/2004 | Joseph Farah

There's something very healthy about this annual ritual of setting goals for the new year.

Because without goals, we just don't achieve our objectives.

If we don't know where we're going, how can we expect to get there?

I've set some personal goals for 2005.

Some of them may seem beyond my ability. Some of them may seem too big even for a mass movement to accomplish in the next year or two. Some of them may seem like I'm biting off more than I can chew.

I would agree. They are.

But, again, without setting goals and objectives, we don't accomplish anything.

So I am going public with my new year's resolutions this year because I hope millions will join me in making them a reality – if not in 2005, certainly in the next few years.

Be it resolved that the American Civil Liberties Union be destroyed.

It might sound harsh to some people. One interviewer on a Christian radio station felt the need to tell listeners that I wasn't really a mean and hateful guy for talking about destruction. But, as I wrote repeatedly in 2004, the ACLU is an evil organization set on a course of repressing our God-given human rights, not preserving them. Will you join me in 2005 to attack this organization at the roots before it hurts one more Boy Scout doing his duty, before it hurts one more innocent child praying before eating his school lunch, before it hurts one more graduate who wants to acknowledge God in a commencement address?

Be it resolved that the United Nations be chased from the United States and that the United States break all ties with the United Nations.

A caller to my daily talk-radio show asked me what would replace the United Nations if we succeeded in this mission. Did we worry about what would replace Adolf Hitler's regime when we set out to destroy it in World War II? The United Nations is a thoroughly evil organization. The world would be a better place if it were gone. I would suggest the replacement would be sovereign nations working in their own best interest and the best interests of their people.

Be it resolved that America will begin enforcing its immigration laws.

That's all it would take to end the illegal immigration crisis we have in America today. If the U.S. government did its job and enforced the laws Congress has passed to protect our borders and our citizenship rights, the invasion of our country would be turned back. What will it take? It will take Americans rising up in anger to demand immigration laws be taken seriously, that resources be devoted to enforcing them, that it become a national priority.

Be it resolved that America turn back to God and the biblical principles that made the country great.

Say a prayer tonight for the future of our nation. Let's take America back in 2005. To do that will take a miracle. But I believe God is still in the miracles business. That's what the Bible tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Will you join me today and every day in the new year in humbling ourselves, praying, seeking His face and turning from our wicked ways?

How's that for a list of new year's resolutions? Do you think it's too ambitious? If you do, you are simply not thinking big enough. God bless you and may God bless America in 2005. And even more importantly, may America bless God in 2005.

"2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." - - my absolute favorite Bible verse.

Great goals, Mr. Farah. May they indeed come to pass.

As I wrote to the WhiteHouse-and to Mr. Farah my resolution
is based upon the foundaitons of this nations laws-and upon the Congressional Record for Feb.2,1983 House and Senate
reolution authorizing and requesting the PResident proclaim 1983 national Year of the Bible. If every American who
claims the Name Christian would study and apply the Scriptures more our stregnth and prosperity would return.
Since 1983 the US Government has maintained and provides as open record The Congressional Record which on this date
displays as well copy of the Ten Commandments, and
PResident Reagans comments about how Americans would benefit from learningthe improtant role the Bible and the
TenCommanemdments have played in molding out traditions and laws." My resolution for America then is to remind the mere politicians EVERY time they choose to ignore these
fundamental principles of our American heritage.

My goals are in the exact opposite order of Joe Farahs.

I see the needs for our children starting with the promotion of the Ten Commandments and acknowledgment of God as primary because so many kids seem to be lost today with nobody to look to for guidance. Their rap music is a good example. Responsibility and patriotism are not expressed in this area.

Then I see enforcing immigration laws as next because this is something that affects every corner of our culture and society. Without solid unquestionable faith that our laws will be enforced our society will fall apart. Why have a law if we aren't going to enforce it?

The UN is working to change our government and way of life 24/7/365 and they are doing a damn good job of it. ie., Agenda 21 and "sustainable development".

The ACLU will dissolve if the belief in God is accepted again by Congress and the Courts.

Us adults aren't the future of America, our kids are. They are who we should be protecting, guiding and supporting. Am I wrong?

1/ Be it resolved that America turn back to God and the biblical principles that made the country great.

2/ Be it resolved that America will begin enforcing its immigration laws.

3/ Be it resolved that the United Nations be chased from the United States and that the United States break all ties with the United Nations.

4/ Be it resolved that the American Civil Liberties Union be destroyed.

I once listed all the good things I did over the past year,
and then turned them into resolution form and backdated them.
That was a good feeling.

BTTT and Great thread, nanak.

And am glad he ended it with

'Say a prayer tonight for the future of our nation. Let's take America back in 2005. To do that will take a miracle. But I believe God is still in the miracles business. I haven't seen a photo in a few years but isn't Joe already on the skinny side?
