They joined forces with Biden, Albright and McCain to get us involved in the Balkans, with the result that we now have a powerful Albanian Muslim outpost in that area. This is what is known as "hegemony"--another code word that might get you called an antisemite.
I am all for a "post neo" consevatism. It is time to transcend not only the paleos, but the neos as well. Time to find a pro-American policy that would have kept us out of the Balkans--and a supportive conservative policy for traditional protection of values--life and liberty as well as property.
Frum was one of the neos that tried to feather his literary nest while working in the Bush admin, with the result that he got his butt kicked out the WH door. Now this pro-choicer is running the traditionally Catholic National Review.
Hope that is helpful.
That post will get you called an anti-Semite, I bet.
Would that your wish for a post-neo conservatism came true.
Not only is it helpful, but it's well-written too.
Actually that is largely BS. The idea of a monolithic Israel based group of Jews who run American policy for Israel's benefit is just old fashioned Jew baiting. It is as original as Hitler's or Stalin's Jew hating.
That's the formerly conservative National Review.
If there is a father figure to the "neocon" movement, his name is William F. Buckley Jr.
If the "neocon" movement has a masthead, his name was Ronald Wilson Reagan.
The neocon legacy already includes the defeat of international communism, and soon will also claim title to the defeat of Islamofacism.
Paleocons on the other hand, can claim nothing as their legacy because paleocon policies have never been in the mainstream of American politics.
Hope that clears up things for you a bit.
P.S. If the nation's most famous paleocon would stop praising Adolf Hitler's leadership skills, perhaps the calls of antisemitism would not ring so consistently, or so true.
The call many of their opponents anti-Sem,ites, because many are at least anti-Israel.
