The reservation system is an abomination that came about in the same era that slavery and Jim Crow existed. Unlike those terrible systems which held entire classes of people in sub-citizen conditions, reservations continue to exist.

Those in them think the system is for their betterment because it allows them to maintain their heritage... what heritage??? Alcoholism and poverty? or maybe its casino operation?!?

What I find ironic is that some tribes have no casinos and starve while other tribes, mere miles away, are living in asbolute luxury.

And the real winners are not the indians.. sure some have benefited, but the politicians and the gaming industry (which is paid to operate the casinos) are the big winners.

Unfortunately, I feel like Don Quixote even talking about it. They are not gonna go away as long as the money is flowing.
