Clemmons also said tolls are a possibility to fund I-73 construction.

Graham agreed.

“Tolling for construction is something to consider,” Graham said, adding that there will need to be a source of local funding for I-73 because the federal government will not pay for the whole project.

Are there any toll roads in SC? I hate toll roads. I would opt for almost any other method of funding.

There is a toll bridge on Hilton Head Island. It is loathed by the locals and the subject of mirth from folks in Atlanta.

I'll ask the same question I asked when this was first proposed in the late 1970's. Why does anyone need an interstate from SC to MI?

I hope this Interstate actually gets built in my lifetime. Getting traffic from I-95 to Myrtle Beach via US 501 is a joke.

The "Southern Connector" toll road (I-185 I think) connects 385 at Simpsonville to I-85 near Anderson/Pelzer.

It was run through over the vocal objections of citizens by the 'powers that be.' Alot of land was condemned by fiat so that developers had easier access to yet unspoiled rural areas in Southern G'ville County.

What a waste of taxpayer's money. And how much private property will be seized for this.

I can almost assure you that I would never use an interstate from Myrtle Beach to Michigan. If somebody wants to use the road, let them pay the toll instead of taking it out of my pocket.

Is there some study that support the necessity of this road? Like most any of those yankees couldn't hop on I-77 by taking other roads? Graham must've lost his mind. I'll be contacting him this week.

BTW there's a toll road that skirts Greenville. It worth the toll if you're going from Columbia to Clemson or Anderson from 365 to 85.
