'WOMB RAIDER' WANTED TO BUY TOT: REPORT
New York Post ^ | 1/2/05 | TODD VENEZIA

Posted on 01/02/2005 7:20:28 AM PST by freespirited

The alleged evil "womb raider" who butchered a Missouri mom-to-be and stole her baby reportedly demanded $45,000 from her ex-hubby's new wife in a desperate bid to buy a child on the black market.

Lisa Montgomery threatened and harassed Vanessa Boman, who is married to the Montgomery's former hubby, Carl Boman, before her alleged crime, the woman told a London newspaper.

Montgomery allegedly told Vanessa Boman that she was going to "destroy" her if she didn't fork over the funds — and that made Boman fear that the unhinged sicko would do something brutal.

"We were really concerned about what was going to happen because we couldn't afford to give her the money even if we'd wanted to," Boman told The Mail on Sunday paper.

"I was convinced she was going to do something dreadful, and I thought Carl and I were in danger."

A working theory from an amateur...

Through years of observing behavior of "second wives"--many of them want a baby with the new husband right away, even when both of them have children, sometimes older children....my take is that Lisa wanted (pathologically and with evil intent) a baby to cement her relationship with the new hubby. New hubby sounds like he's as dumb as a stump.

No, I think it's Wife I threatening her ex and Wife II to get the funds to buy a kid.

"New hubby sounds like he's as dumb as a stump."

He may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but at least he's had the dignity not to say any of the excruciating things often said in such situations, such as "my wife is a great/good/caring person/mother, etc."

This woman is a really scary character, and she is either going to jail for the rest of her life, or she is going to be executed. Terrible for her children, that I will say.

Based on the stories I've read, where he accepted Lisa's story about having giving birth prematurely in a parking lot, and him going to pick her and the baby up, and never questioning it; yeah, stump just about describes it!

I am amazed that these sickos even have husbands. Montgomery's husband is not that weird looking like his wife Lisa, Is there a woman shortage or something? But I agree he is dumb as a stump or missing a screw somewhere. Lord have mercy

The title is a rather crass attempt at humor, huh?

Any further information on your theory ?

As a divorced 49 year old guy, I suspect that you may be onto something.

You wouldn't believe how many women (46-47-48) I encounter who have a 1/2/3 year old kid ...

Having raised four (4) myself ... I shudder at the ordeals and blessings that they'll be wresting with when these women are 60 years old.

So many American women go dancing through life, playing the hot, sophisticated career girl, or being slavishly devoted to parents and dogs and horse shows ...

... and then they get the hots to have a kid in the post-forty period.

God Help Any Man who'd be Fooled into Riding that Lonesome Road ...

All he'll find is that he's a merely" a financially well-off sperm donor and yardman to such a woman, who'd spend the next twenty years smiling every day with her baby (and it's NOT her accommodating husband) ...

That's my take on this too. I would add that there could also be problems in the current marriage, and she was hoping a baby would bring him back in line. Horrid woman.

This is from CNN's website (thanks Google!)

"Montgomery, a 36-year-old mother of two high-school age children..."

They are from the marriage to the first husband. I think her current husband may have some children of his own, also, but I'm not really sure about that. It just must really s*ck to find out your mother is a psycho-killer.

It's just that I've seen so many "second wives" (and I'm trying not to use that term with disparagement, though it sounds like I am) who already have raised kids, had a marriage fail, then seem intensely heck-bent on starting another family. I suspect there's some need to prove something ....Since it's such hard work and so expensive--you'd think that they could manage just to enjoy each other and their assorted grandkids (who will arrive shortly!).

PS--I did know one smart fellow who got his tubes clipped before he fell into that trap.

Isn't it interesting that so simple a means to avoid the Tender Snare is so seldom employed?

I believe describing the woman as a "Womb Raider" is a term now being used by some media outlets. I find it sickening--it cutseyfies and sensationalizes a heinous, evil, murderous criminal...

That, my friend ... is EXCELLENT advice !

Solves about a dozen potential problems ... not of least of which is having Spouse # 2 marry and then dump you, with the "good decent fellow" now having to Alimony x 2 (because fat & lazy spouse # 1 never remarried) and child support to the "new bambino" (from Spouse # 2) until the POOR gentleman is 72 years old ...

"We had people warn Kevin that there was no baby, that she couldn't be pregnant, but he didn't believe us."

How could any man who lived with a woman be fooled into thinking she was pregnant and about to deliver when she was not pregnant? Did she have a large belly? Did he never see her unclothed? Has he not slept with her in the last nine months? Or been in close enough proximity to feel her abdomen?
