I refined my search wording and it turns out it was only 98 votes.

My bad.

On Thursday, the day after King County released a list of nearly 900,000 voters who cast ballots Nov. 2, Republicans demanded to know why the list appeared to have about 3,500 fewer names than the number of tallied votes.

Election officials in the state's largest county — a Democratic stronghold — replied that the list was preliminary, noting that records of voters who cast certain write-in ballots and people who wanted their addresses kept confidential still had to be reconciled with election data.

Gregoire congratulated Rossi for running a strong campaign, and said it was up to him to decide when and where to concede. But she ruled out a brand new election.

"Do-overs" only occur in golf, and only during practice, she said. "This is not golf and this is not practice."

A legal challenge would have to be filed by Jan. 22, 10 days after Gregoire's scheduled inauguration.

It won't matter. They have their own brand of democracy in the state of Washington.

And they no doubt have a 'bought' judge that will sanction the theft of an election.

I recall the Washington ballots being found in Alaska, but I don't recall that there were 5,000 of them. Seems to me the number was smaller...

Good point. I saw the word "lists" and assumed registered. Still looks like fraud though. And I would bet that these votes are not for Rossi.

It was only 98 votes. Here's the link to the original story

98 Washington State Ballots found in Alaska (THIS IS GETTING TOTALLY ABSURD) The Seattle Times ^

Posted on 12/24/2004 9:28:36 AM PST by Nascardude

Alaska's elections director said yesterday she has 98 uncounted ballots from Washington's Nov. 2 election and would like to send them back here.

Dino Rossi's campaign wants to see them.

Washington officials say the ballots were cast as provisional ballots by people who said they were Alaska residents, and then the votes were sent north. Provisional ballots are given to voters on Election Day when they go to polling places other than their own, or their names don't appear in lists of registered voters.

Washington, with one of the country's most liberal provisional-ballot laws, sends ballots to the voter's home state in hopes they can be counted in the presidential election, said Washington's director of elections, Nick Handy.

"I actually had a number of calls from election directors from around the country that said, 'Why am I getting provisional ballots from Washington?' " Handy said.

In Juneau, Alaska Director of Elections Laura Glaiser said a quick look at the 98 ballots found one showing an Alaska mailing address but a place of residence in Tacoma.

Handy and Glaiser said that could qualify as a Washington vote if the voter were properly registered here.

Glaiser tried to give the ballots back so officials here could review them to make sure none were cast by valid Washington voters. But her attorneys were told by a state attorney here that Washington law called for the ballots to be sent out of state.

After hearing of the Alaska ballots yesterday, the Rossi campaign began a nationwide search for ballots held by other states, and believes there are Washington ballots in Idaho as well.

Handy said it's too late for the ballots to be counted

Let's hope so. This thing stinks, and as usual, is getting very little play from the lamestream media.

And it's strange that they suddenly found a box of 3500 ballots after it appeared that Rossi had won it.

The cry of "we found more ballots" was heard nine times from King County. As I recall, the largest number was 10,000 "found ballots", the smallest 22.

I don't recall a specific call of 3,500 (though there may well have been).

Maybe we should have the elections on Easter Sunday since the Democrats have turned voting into an Easter egg hunt.

Hey, maybe I'm a Washington State voter and don't even know it! Why I could just sit down, write 'Proviznal Balut' in crayon, and send in my vote!

No, read closely. Not registered voters, participating voters.

That said, that's suspicious too, but they will find some nice, reasonable explaination for it I'm sure.

There is a movie, "Black Sheep", shot years ago, which eerily anticipates the current events in WA. It ends with Chris Farley character exposing over-voting fraud of a Democrat Gregoire-lookalike Governor
