There are 3000 american missing also.

Does anypne know where I can get list of the name list (or photo site) of the missing Americans?

I was surfing and ran across some morgue pictures and most of the people were "white". They are still unknown victims and they remove the pictures as they are ID. Some of them are most likely Swedes and they found on the first day but they have not been ID.

Here's the thread I started after finding missing persons lists and found survivors lists on an online news site. Then I started finding more, and adding them onto the thread.

There are links to those missing in photo lists, hospital lists, and within the thread, I've put up two current lists of victims admitted to a Bangkok hospital.

Not all the news is bad. On some of the missing lists, I've noticed updated comments saying simply "Found." There are also messages passed along from survivors via rescue personnel.

All lists give the names of victims or survivors, if available, their nationality and if possible, contact info.

Freeper Killjoy has also provided some excellent links and commentary. Killjoy has a friend who is helping in the relief efforts in Thailand.

Thanks for the link and help.

I don't know how these people can find someone without having a picture of them. Most of these people probably did not have ID on them if they were on the beach.

Have you found the morgue photos yet that are online? I have only found 3 links that have them.

Are you looking for the deceased' photos and/or morgue lists? Where did you find them?

It would have been and in some cases, still might be helpful if the recovery personnel had digital or Polaroid type cameras with them in order to photograph the deceased for later identification during recovery efforts.

In most cases though, it's probably much too late. Reports are coming in that they are going to rely on DNA for identification.

There are about 3,800 Americans "unaccounted for" not "missing". Americans don't leave flight plans behind. The State Department is getting thousands of calls from people who "think" their love ones are at the beach in Thailand. That's why the message is going out to all Americans in Thailand, Indonesia etc to call home. That way we can get a better grip on who is really "missing". The State Department and Embassy's are taking hundreds of calls and operating 24/7. A half dozen officers happened to be vacationing in Phuket and have been on the job since. I'm pretty sure we don't have a thousand Americans dead and hope its not near a hundred.

That's a pretty significant impact on a country the size of Sweden. Sweden has a population of 9 million so prpoprtionately it would be like the US losing 96,000 people. And the lost probably aren't slouches either, they're probably the higher income folks like engineers, doctors, businessmen... It's got to have huge impact on a country that size.

Well, since Sweden is the best country in the world, by all accounts, they sure won't need any of that evil USA help.

I believe the Swedish government has requested US aid - especially w/ regards to transportation of wounded.

On a side note, I overheard a phone conversation at my local gym two hours ago or so - the brother of the gym employee had been in Thailand when the wave struck - he was flown back to Sweden yesterday, but he and his entire family were still hospitalized.

My best friend is doing relief work there (Phang Nga Province, Thailand). Almost everyone still alive has been accounted for. The rest are dead. I would like to believe you are right but it doesn't look that way.

This is a terrible catastrophy for Sweden. Most of the 3500 Swedish victims are families with young children. I saw a report about a Swedish man who had been helping to gather bodies at the beaches in Thailand. He said that there had been bodies of small nordic children and babies all over the place.

Isn't Thailand a great place for Europeans to vacation where child sex slavery is readily available?

Need to check the child brothels first for these people.

Both the Europeans and the Thai government needs to end the practice of child sex slavery before you hear kind words from me.

My question is: How many Swedes were there for Child Sex?

Holy shit - how many times do we need to debunk this myth? Get this into your head: Most of the missing Swedes are *children*, together with their families, as well as backpackers. There have been 100 posts or so on the subject already - that's plenty enough.

(There are 3000 or so missing Americans in the area as well - FYI...)

Happy new year!

Apparently at least once per thread.

Sir, are you mentally ill?

Do you REALLY BELIEVE that Swedish kids and their families are going to Thailand for child sex tours?

Maybe not families, but adults might. The question is still not answered as to why you and other folks are in favor of child sex slavery.

Sweden is known for its sexual permissiveness, so there would be no need to go to Thailand for sex. However, they give the world an example that child sex is considered okay in that country.

As far as I am concerned, if they stop the child sex brothels, then I will be kinder and gentler. Are you saying the Swedes have more rights than the abused Thai children?

And by going to a country that openly supports child sex slavery, are not the Swedes saying that they support this industry.

Just go somewhere for vacation... That's all.

Please give exact figures on the missing that they are families or single people. What is the exact percentage of families/family members missing versus single adults from Sweden.

You make an accusation that sounds as though that 100% of all tourists from Sweden are family.

Are you correct in your assumption/accustion?

And where is your care for the children abused in Thailand.

Thailand is considered with Costa Rica the top two child sex slavery countries.

This would not happen if tourists would not patronize this industry.
