"This is exactly the kind of issue that I think can be brought up in the contested-election statutes," Reed said.
But why did he certify the election if the numbers are in doubt?
"What I signed was a certification for the numbers that were submitted to us by the counties," he said. "I am not in a judicial or an investigative role here."
The latest questions about King County came after the elections office released on Wednesday a list of all registered voters in the county, broken down by those who voted and those who didn't. The Republican Party, among other groups, had requested the information as part of its investigation of voting irregularities.
Conservative blogger Stefan Sharkansky pointed out the discrepancy Wednesday, and by yesterday it was Topic A among Rossi backers and Republican Party officials.
Party Chairman Chris Vance said it could be the "smoking gun" needed to overturn the election.
The number of King County ballots counted in the final tally was 899,199 3,539 more than the number of participating voters reported in the county's list

I talked to the SOS office early evening 12/30. They said they certified the number that was currently on the SOS website, 876,452. We now have a certified election in which one county has a moving total after the certification.

I can't believe how blatant the dims are in their vote fraud the last three elections. They cheat big time and rob elections, all the while accusing us of what they are really doing. What really gets me is so many idiot voters have no idea what is happening.

Republican or Democrat on top -- counting votes differently in different counties in different manners in a recount of votes already counted just is a dumb idea.
I don't expect the Democrats to see any reason on this matter, but I do hope that the legislature of Washington fixes this mess. And I hope that other states get off their collective rumps and make it ironclad in nailing down recount procedures.

Wonder if they'll make the American people take this all the way to the Supreme Court, just to get a fair election in the state of WA.
Anyone think, that like the Nazi Party in Germany, that the Dem Party in America should be outlawed? Or am I not taking the 'long historical view'?

Prima facie fraud = Smoking gun = Re-vote.
Thank you for posting this.

We have to stop referring to them as "Democrats." They are Socialists, as more and more Americans are realizing every day.

Since you are from Washington, you've probably already heard this, but just in case: Yesterday, the gent subbing for Ruch mentioned that thousands of voters had registered with the exact same address (a county government building) with hundreds listing the same apartment number (which was an office in the building). Not being familiar with your state, I can't recall the area he mentioned other than the fact he described it as low income.
Unbelievable!

Apparently that cold medicine I was taking yesterday made me a bit prone to exaggerate. ;-) The numbers are in the hundreds rather than thousands, but could still have effected the election outcome. I found this:
Washington Recount Follies
As we heard this morning, it appears King (Ukraine) County found enough votes to hand the Governship to Christine Gregoire. To pad her lead, the Wahsington State Supreme Court has also decied the ballots found in various places throughout King (Ukraine) County should be counted. From The Seattle Times.
The state Supreme Court ruled today that King County should count hundreds of recently discovered ballots in the hand recount of the still-undecided governors race.
The ballots from the Democratic stronghold of King County could put Democrat Christine Gregoire over the top. Republican Dino Rossi won the first count by 261 votes and won a machine recount by 42 votes.
Stefan Sharkansky at Sound Politics, who has done a great job covering the Washington re-recount, has done some investigating in a
single precinct in Seattle.
Precinct 1823 has 763 registered Active voters. 527 of them list as their residence address 500 4th Ave the King County Administration Building. 241 of these voters specifically note their apartment number as #553, which is the room number of the
King Ukraine County Records and Elections office.
Over 300 of these alleged voters give 500 4th Ave. (with or without the Elections office room number) as both their residence and mailing addresses. Several of the other Elections Office residents give overseas mailing addresses, such as Anuj Rathi of Mumbai, India, Rayko Suzuki of Tokyo, Japan, and Pascal Engi of Bern, Switzerland.
He posted an update to this rather odd occurence later in the post.
Elections Superintendent Bill Huennekens explained that the residents of the Elections office are homeless individuals", and that there is a special section of the administrative code which allows for that. He sees nothing unusual in the fact that some of these so-called homeless individuals also give mailing addresses elsewhere. I asked him what the county did to verify the identities of individuals who list the elections office as their residence and he said that they cant be treated any differently from anybody else. I take that to mean, that anybody on the planet who wants to vote (or vote again) can simply claim to be a resident of the King County Elections office.
Do you hear that people? If you want to cast more than one vote, you can just register in your local district as a homeless person, especially if you live in a Democratic district. Chances are they wont check you out.
Well we have just witnessed an election literally stolen by the Democratic party. No point in whining about it. What the Republicans have to realize is for now on, the Democratic party will do anything to win an election when they cant win it at the ballot box on the actual Election Day. The Republicans better recognize this and take it into account in future elections.
