Attorney asks San Diego City Council to overturn mayoral election

An attorney for supporters of a maverick write-in candidate for mayor asked the City Council on Thursday to overturn Republican incumbent Dick Murphy's narrow victory.

A review of the empty-bubble ballots this month showed 5,547 voters wrote Frye's name but neglected to fill the oval. That would have easily been enough to overtake Murphy's 2,108-vote margin of victory out of nearly 460,000 votes cast.

Its becoming patently obvious that Elections must be removed from the purview of courts or we will lose our constitutionally guaranteed Republican Form of Government.
