I gave to Americares, not much $50.00, but if it's all pooled together, it could be a lot. If every person in America only gave $1.00 that would be 250 million dollars!

I would normally give to the Salvation Army, but I was not sure they were active in that area. Americares seems to be a good outfit, they help in disasters here and around the world. They are definately founded with the can-do American spirit.

I will say that never in my life have I wanted to send money so much. I feel so bad for all those people. Here I was, having a lovely Christmas with my family, and they were getting wiped out by a tsunami. It's not that I have a sense of false guilt, but I just feel really bad for all of them.

My only question, when is the Al Jazeera telethon starting? Because for sure I could scrape up another $25.00 to send in to that effort.

We usually give through Catholic Relief Services . Even in majority Muslim countries, they are set up to deliver services fast because they've been around for a LONG time. We've also given in the past to Catholic Medical Mission Board , but they're mostly for long term placement not the short term emergency help.
