I was just watching CNN's coverage of the tsunami disaster and they had Patrick Leahy on commenting about it. He went to great lengths to state that the President had waited to long to make a public statement about the crisis and that our initial offer of $35 million dollars was not nearly enough. To her credit, the interviewer said that the White House was claiming that the President's critics were unwilling to give him credit for anything he did to which Leahy responded that he would give credit when credit was due.
Thanks, but I think everyone's done a nice job here of out-Brutusing Brutus.
RE: #34........LOL! (You're going Southern on us!)
This may sound cold of me and I really don't care what Senator Depends thinks but I would rather we donate millions of dollars toward our troops in Iraq so that they have everything they need to fight the enemy, instead of to countries like Indonesia who has a large muslim population.
Remember Flo from Mel's Diner?
Has Mama T dusted off the ol checkbook and donated any of that $15 million war chest Jean Kerrie has left over?
I wonder when these countries will ever be to the point of taking care of themselves? They receive aid on a regular basis and are NEVER prepared for any emergency. I guess I am a bit hard hearted but many of these countries are rich in labor and resources and it is past time for them to use it.
