No. I posted the below article earlier.
http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/asia/andaman.htm
Description
Marco Polo was reported to be the first official visitor to the Andaman and Nicobar islands, a tropical string of 572 islands, with only 36 inhabited.
Located in the Bay of Bengal between India and Burma (Myanmar), the topography of the islands is generally hilly with heavy rain forests. Farming and fishing are the main industries of the indigenous people.

Actually that is a style of writing 100,000 in India- having the comma after the one. It is a little confusing to people over here in the US, not used to it.
Actually that is not true. If I remember correctly its hard for mainlanders to settle on the island due to restrictions from the Indian govt. Areas where the tribals live are also restricted even to visitors. You can't just walk in there.
Moorings, there is a saying in India that you can wake up someone who is sleeping but you cannot wake up someone who is pretending to be asleep.
Peter is one of those guys who is so prejudiced, you cannot convince him otherwise.
The andamans tribal people have been left alone to live as they please and tourism is allowed only on half a dozen islands. This has been the policy for a very long time. Peter can live in his dreamworld for all I care.
I think Ive figured out what that statement means.Indian sociologists & economists frequently use the term "Floating Population" to describe people who come from either interior parts of the state or or states in search of jobs to more advanced, urban areas.Such people are likely to be less educated & poorer than others & hence have little chance of getting "solid" permanent housing. As a result such people keep moving from one part of the city(say Mumbai or Madras) to another or move to other cities or townships.Hence they "float" from one place to another.A number of the people killed in Madras & other parts of Tamil Nadu were floaters, who probably were not residents of that area in the 1st place.
Haven't checked. I've been wondering about the Maldives -- most of those are near sea-level anyway. Haven't checked that either.
Arjun,
Due to personal experience I have acquired a dislike for upper caste Hindus. Considering your venomous responses to me so far, I'm inclined to assume you must be one of them.
I've also stated repeatedly that my dislikes are reserved for the pompous asses I've had personal experience with and the people who are just like them, which so far includes every upper caste Hindu I have ever met. I've had personal experience with YOUR hatred and prejudice and no amount of posturing on your part can erase the fact of upper caste bias to those who see it firsthand.
Also, you said that "foreign agencies don't know jack s*** about India" to which I replied that I am sure the British still know their way around.
Isn't it nice to be reminded of the fact that for all the glories of upper caste Hindus they were kept under the bootheel of the British for almost two hundred years? And isn't also nice to be reminded that the upper caste was the principal beneficiary of the spoils system of the Raj emplaced by the British? All of the good government jobs were reserved to the upper caste...effectively making the upper caste a class of traitors to India herself.
You are no better than the lowest untouchable who cleans out the public toilets and buries the dead. I KNOW you hate me saying this, but India will not be a powerful nation until people like you accept the principle that all Indian citizens are equal before the law and in principle. The arrogance of the upper caste is no different from the arrogance of the upper classes in England who enslaved India. England is slowly rising from sixty years of stagnation now that social mobility is becoming a reality there.
I'll allow the Andaman Islanders are being treated better, that is good to know if it is true.
You don't even see your own prejudices in your postings, so inculcated in your own hatreds are you.
You are an idiot and I do not wish to continue this conversation since its a waste of my time.
Chup raho chotaa sa ladka.
From what rock did you crawl out from?
Could you do us all a favor and crawl back under it?
