My thoughts exactly! Just tell them, sorry, we don't have the money. Our funds are tied up in Iraq.

the United Nations to build a new headquarters for a cool $1.3 billion.

Wouldn't a hut in Cameroon be a whole lot cheaper?

If they want to build their extravagant UN palaces someplace, let them build them in Mogadishu, Monrovia or Abaju, where they can be right on scene to help solve the world's problems.

For some reason they insist on squatting on prime real estate so they can eat at the best restaurants on their bottomless expense accounts and take home huge salaries - all the while talking endlessly, pretending they are doing useful work.

They are wasting billions of dollars of our valuable tax money which we have to borrow to even give them. Worse, they are acting against our interests and the interests of freedom and liberty everywhere on the planet.

The UN is nothing more than a jobs program for well connected third world bureaucrats and dictators. Get them out of this country and pull the plug on our "contributions".

That is the ideal building and place.

My sentiments exactly!!!

If anyone can name just one instance where UN peace keepers made a situation better instead of worse, I'll contain my sarcastic remarks for a month (probably die trying)

GET THE UN OUT OF THE US, AND THE US OUT OF THE UN!!!

Any nation belonging to the UN should no longer receive aid from the United States. Or be able to trade with us. Since the UN is full of socialists thugs I say let's nationalize all foreign holdings in the U.S.

Are you:
Sarcastic.
Dumb.
A Troll.

I like the idea of locating the UN in one of the trouble-spots in the world.

They can let us know when they have solved the problem, and then we can dispatch them to another country.

The good news is that we won't have to hear from time except in 20-year or so cycles. Or am I being too optimistic?

Too optimistic, I would think.

As long as the UN has the prospect of fleecing us for more money, we will hear from them constantly.

However, if they are trying to hold off the looting mobs at their own front gates they may stop yelling for money long enough to start hollering for the Marines. I hope we would be firm in denying their one last request!
