Volcano becomes active in KAMCHATKA (10,700 feet, 40 miles from the Pacific)
rian.ru ^ | Dec. 28

Posted on 12/29/2004 3:25:24 PM PST by Truth666

Ashes are ejected from the crater of the Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka to a height of up to 2,000 m. The height of the ejection above sea level exceeded 5,000 m.

The seismic stations near the volcano register underground tremors from a depth of up to 5,000 m and interrupted spasmodic volcanic vibration.

For the greater part of the past 24 hours it was impossible to conduct video observation of Shiveluch because of bad weather but scientists hold the view that some ejections are accompanied by fragmentation avalanches.

Shiveluch (its height is 3,283 m) is now at the stage of active eruption

Uggh......It's the "Attention Effect" again.

At any given moment there are at least 12 active volcanoes on the planet. 99% of the time there's no mainstream media articles on them and nobody is posting about them on FR.

Shiveluch is a very active volcano. It's been erupting for quite some time in 2004.

Shiveluch also erupted in 1999, 1998, 1997, 1990, 1989, 1988, 1986, 1985, 1984, 1980, and 1964, and that's just a partial listing.

Problem is the likes of Lies666 and other apocalyptikooks attempt to promote the idea that "normal" is no volcanoes erupting, and any geological activity anywhere in the world is unusual and Sign of the End Times.

Somewhere in Russia. I remember from my childhood days of playing the board game Risk, that it is located on the easten edge of Russia. I'll put 20 armies on it now.

Dang, beat me to it. If you want to hold Asia you have to stack up armies there to prevent an invasion from N. America.

Good catch. But this thread is by someone who likes to create hysteria over non-facts.
