Soon we will be approaching a time when "We the People" must be heard because of government inaction with regard to immigration enforcement. And when "We the People" voice our opinion, the government of course, will not approve.
It would seem that our elected politicians should be outraged by the apparent willingness of a federal government that allows illegal aliens to roam free in this country. I know I'm frustrated, and every citizen should be.
Sadly, with the exception of Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner, Tom Tancredo, Dana Rohrabacher, Virgil Good, to mention "a few good men" serving in Congress, who have stepped up to the plate to show concern and to demand action from this Administration to stop the massive invasion of lawbreakers, our concerns are not represented in Congress. Are we to conclude that those who have not spoken up approve of our country being invaded with illegal aliens, or are they just "chicken little cowards?" Either way these cowards shouldn't be in office pretending to represent us, because they do not. And these same cowards shouldn't take for granted the tenacity of "We the People" or underestimate our willingness to do what needs to be accomplished to preserve the sovereignty of this country.
It's very clear that there are devious and vigorous forces that want to continue the flow of illegal aliens into this country. The race is on and this administration is gearing up to push through yet another amnesty against the will of the people. Our "Here We Go 'Round the Amnesty Bush" President, needs a wake-up call and it may just have to come from Senator Hillary Clinton.

>>Question...will you pick lettuce, or your kids??? Who will???<<
Just so you don't lose sleep over who will pick the lettuce, allow me to explain some facts to you.
When Ceaser Chavez decided that he would organize the crop workers into not picking tomatoes, a couple of brothers decided that since tomatoes are a row crop, they could design a machine to harvest them.
What happened? In three years all tomatoes were being picked by machines, the farmers planted more acreage of tomatoes and the the price of tomatoes dropped.
Lettuce is a row crop. Get ready for a price drop.

"In three years all tomatoes were being picked by machines" Not the ones in Stanislaus County grown by the tri-county growers' association. They hand pick only the ripe tomatoes and fresh pack them on site. The only ingredient you will find in the can other than tomatoes is basil.
When I owned restaurants that's the only type I used.

You need to come up to Reno, Nevada and watch Americans do the same jobs. Please ask the President, the Vice president and the entire Cabinet if they would come too.
Actually, you can omit Minetta from the offer. I can't stand idiots.

If you feel as strongly about this as I do, then you will agree that there's no time like the present to get started. I believe that GWB will continue doing a great job on national defense and the war, but, as we all know, we also need to start shifting some resources to beefing up our border security. How do we do this?

"all the other jobs that Americans don't want to do."
Please tell me what we did before the wave of illegals invaded out country? Who was doing these jobs? Duh, it was Americans. Americans will do any job....just not for any price. These businesses don't want to pay a decent wage......and the illegals will work for very cheap because they will live 20 in a house. Should we all lower our standard of living and become a third world cesspool just like the places that these "good people" left? No thanks.

We have come a long way as a country since 1776, Rod. How in the hell did we ever get to be the worlds military and economic superpower, with the worlds highest productivity, WITHOUT illegals.
My father and all his friends worked as grunts in a refinery for 40 years. They were all American citizens.
Much as you hate to admit it mon...it has been American citizens and legal American immigrants who have built this country...with a lot of sweat and blood I might add.
Saying we cant survive without illegals is an insult to generations of hard working American families.
You just cant spin it any other way...try as you might.

They were too busy building my roads, repairing my cars, replacing my roofs, collecting my garbage, printing my junk mail, cleaning my public bathrooms and all the other jobs that Americans don't want to do. Lets see, in you say in Texas the illegals are building everything, fixing all the vehicles, running the restaurants and service industry, controlling sanitation, controlling or running the printing industry, controlling or running building maintenence, landscaping, construction industry, no doubt they are employed by DELL in Texas to build and ship computers, etc etc... So what do the citizens of Texas do?
Are they all cowboys on the range? Or do the illegals do that too in Texas?

Like citizenship, borders, and sovereignty, it will eventually become pointless. This is the goal. And all done on the backs of Joe and Jane middle class.

"you say in Texas the illegals are building everything" No, I said that Hispanic immigrant laborers are a significant reason for our prosperity. They work in all facets of our economy, including Dell computers.
I have no idea which laborers are legal and which are not. Not even employers can be sure.
Also bear in mind that most Hispanics in Texas are citizens, some going back more generations than there has been a Texas.
Hispanics aren't different than Texans, they are Texans.
