New Jersey's first lady went public with details of her struggles with depression yesterday, telling a television interviewer that she once thought about putting her "baby in my microwave."

Yikes. Maybe they oughta bring back that queer feller.
Just heard that on Opie and Anthony as well. Scary, Scary woman. Another typical Dem basket case. What a pair the bozos in my state elected. She should have her kids taken away from her after hearing that. Get this tape to Rush or Hannity. What a complete freakin' mess!
Whoops..I thought that was McGreevy's wife. At least she had an excuse. Get this basket case out of the State House NOW!!!!!
Yowch...
LOLOLOL.......oh, your #2 post
what twisted minds these people have, had she actually done it, the lefty liberal professor crowd would naturally have exonerated her and blame society as usual.
And isn't it great that these are the people that know what's best for you? Ahhh, the People's Republic of New Jersey - maybe some more gun control will make everything better...
The reason for this story at this time - get it out there ahead of being outed during a campaign for governor later on. Jon Corzine already had this information in his "opposition research" file and was going to put it out there sometime early next year, as the primary campaign for governor heated up. This way, Mrs. Codey is seen as a sympathetic victim who sought aid rather than some kind of monster.
My wife went through post-partum with our two kids. I would never knock on anyone who's been through it, regardless of politics.
Mary Jo did the right thing here. Sometimes these thoughts are beyond our control, but she told her husband and got herself away from her children so she could do them no harm.
PS. The "child" folks are advocating taking away is now 20 years old.
(steely)
Microwave her baby! What in the world is wrong with this woman. Eveyone knows babies are to be baked.

Having gone thru PPD myself, I'm not going to knock them either.
As far as I can tell all Dem Spouses are whack jobs. Teresa, Tipper, Hilary, Kitty...the list goes on and on.
"Mary Jo did the right thing here. "
Darn you, you're the wet blanket on all this well meaning fun. Everyone knows the DU is filled with mean folks who take delight in any misfortune that befalls a conservative. But the conservatives, they are better, they take a higher road, right? / sarcasm
I came to this thread to see if there was compassion for someone who had a problem, and admitted it. Perhaps her motive was to help others? (I honestly don't know). Unfortunately I see more schadenfrude than anything else. Shame on those who instantly went on the attack.

Would that Andrea Yates had done the same.
I agree with you. Post-partum depression is a real problem. It doesn't mean the woman is "nuts" or a "basket case" as several on here have so eloquently put it. Hormones and chemicals control more of our mental stability than we may want to admit. I'm just glad Mrs. Codney got help.
We can dislike her and her husband for many reasons, I assume. However, I don't believe this is one.
I guess they'll have no qualms about stealing the NJ taxpayers blind then.
