BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- State police have charged two more Department of Motor Vehicle workers and a Chilean national in what investigators believe is a broad conspiracy to sell bogus Connecticut drivers' licenses and other state documents.
The two DMV employees _ Venita Bines, 40, of Bridgeport, and Tracy Stevens, no age or address available _ were to be arraigned Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court, The Hartford Courant reported.
The Chilean national, 37-year-old Kenneth Nelson of Bridgeport, was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit forgery and was held on $250,000 bail after a court appearance Tuesday. A judge ordered the warrant for his arrest sealed from public view.
During Nelson's arraignment, prosecutor John Malone urged Judge Howard Owens to set a high bond for Nelson, noting that Nelson wasn't an American citizen and that he was part of a wider investigation. Owens ordered Nelson to surrender his passport and continued the case to Jan. 13.
Nelson is a supervisor at a Bridgeport plastering company, the Connecticut Post reported.
Two other Bridgeport men _ whose names were not available late Tuesday _ also have been arrested in the investigation.

I'm seeing a lot more stories about arrests at the border and fake id busts lately.
I'm certain they did also. If it yielded information the government is unlikely to publicize that fact. Lots of things happen that don't get in the papers.
