After three days on morphine, a double dose is like pissin in the ocean. Morphine works great for a short time, then your system seems to dismiss it. I've found that IV pushes of demeral followed by intramuscular shots of nubaine work much better than morphine if what you've got is going to take a while. Compazine shots will take away the wave of nausea that accompanies a direct mainline of the demerol. If you want to know why heroin addicts puke after a nice boot, just get a mainline shot of morphine or demeral and you'll figure it out.......

This new drug sounds interesting. I'll be getting some surgery in February and it will be painful. I'll test it out.

After major knee surgery last month, this new med would have been something to try. I am extremely medication resistant, and todays pain killers don't work on me. I also cannot be numbed. After surgery was not fun, they had me on the highest dose and the highest frequency, but it didn't help the pain at all. If this new stuff works, I know what I'll be asking for next time.
