Asia Earthquake kills 60,000 EXACTLY one year after Iran quake kills 26,000
me

Coincidence?

A massive earthquake in Asia unleashed tsunamis killing thousands, exactly one year to the hour after the Bam, Iran earthquake killed 26,000. What are the odds of two of the most destructive earthquakes in decades occuring exactly one year apart- almost to the minute!

December 26, 2003 - Bam, Iran, only 6.6 on the richter scale, but quake is centered directly under the city- 26,000 dead.

December 26, 2004 - Centered off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the massive quake, which measured 9.0 on the richter scale, unleashed tidal waves across the Indian Ocean.

Yeah, the earthquakes occurred when Michael Moore fell out of bed in a drunken stupor from trying to forget Christmas the night before.

To be honest, it isn't the frequency as much as the intensity...

Consider the Furama Resort Danang.

No Islamists. Fewer communists consistent with our winning the war on terror.

Very relaxing. Good day trips to shopping in Hoi An and and the Cham civilization ruins at My Son.

Yes, that is true. As I just posted, it isn't the frequency as of yet, as is the intensity. But in due time, I believe both will increase soon enough.

Gotcha! But "labor pains" are closer together as well as more intense, right?

I wouldn't know...never was in labor :)

But seriously, I do not know about the intensity as much as frequency. My wife said it hurt the same no matter what, but just got more frequent.

Could be obscure Batman villian Ra's A Ghul. He is the type to do this kind of thing (he is an immortal "eco terrorist"). plus he would have the technology to do it.

Certain sects of Christianity do have problems with cause and effect.

It is like the scene where the cannibals have the hero tied to a stake and ready to cook and a eclipse happens and they let him go.

"Gotcha! But "labor pains" are closer together as well as more intense, right?"

Well, from what I saw of my wife at the time, then yes.

Read Christs words in Mathew 23 I believe. That will help you and anyone else out.

Some think the full moon played a part in causing the earthquake.

Grandpa always said to not pray for rain when the moon is full.

I think he might have been correct, almost always the worst storms come when the moon is full...

Science? or old Cherokee belief, I have lived long enough to think that Grandpa is correct.

Interesting thing about dates and probability is that in any group of, say, 20-30 people you're virtually guaranteed that two will have the same birthday.

It just goes past 50% at 23 people. At 30 it is about 70%.

Sri Lanka rejects Israel rescuers

Posted by JeffersonRepublic.com On 12/28/2004 11:01:55 AM PST · 2 replies

BBC ^ Israel has cancelled plans to send a 150-person rescue mission to Sri Lanka after the devastated island objected to the military composition of the team. The delegation - including 60 soldiers - had been due to set off on Tuesday to help after Sunday's tsunami disaster. Instead, a smaller team will escort a convoy carrying emergency supplies, Israeli officials said. Sri Lanka restored diplomatic ties with Israel in 2000, despite objections from the island's Muslim minority.

The wife and I were thinking of Sumatra for our 30th anniversary next year. Guess that trip is out.

To the contrary, now is the time to go. Prices will be lower than ever. Plus, major earthquakes tend to happen only every 30 or 40 years or so. Therefore, next year will probably be the safest year there.
