Bush gala has big donations pouring in [It's a disgrace... biggest criminals 'listed']

WASHINGTON -- Soldiers will dance free of charge at President Bush's second inauguration, a record $40 million-plus celebration for "a nation at war" financed by some of the same big donors who bankrolled Bush's re-election campaign.

The president's private inaugural committee, calling on corporate and individual donors to contribute as much as $250,000 apiece, has struck a military-minded theme for a three-day series of events leading to the swearing-in on Jan. 20. "Celebrating Freedom, Honoring Service" is the slogan for a festival that will start with a ceremony at an indoor Washington arena "saluting those who serve," and close with a collection of nine formal balls. The dances will include a Commander-in-Chief Ball open, admission free, to invited members of the military. "We recognize this time that we are a nation at war," explained Jeanne Phillips, a Texas businesswoman heading the 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee. She is staging a celebration of "our freedom as Americans here at home" and "freedom everywhere."

I hear a lot of idiots touting that we should not have this celebration because we are at war. Inaugurations, throwing out the first pitch, College Bowl games, and every other celebration is what we are fighting for. Anything else says we are losing and cowards.

Great pic!

Mr. Silva ought to ask Barak Obama'mama for the tickets HE won't be using to the gala. That way, he could report on it 'first-hand' rather than just 'speculating'.

Up here in MA, the dem hacks are selling them for campaign donations. For them, it would be heresy to acknowledge that Bush is America's president!.

I do feel your pain Mr Silva... and I am ENJOYING IT TREMENDOUSLY....... Having my OWN family and my closest friends voting democratic, and knowing full well how SURE they were 'This time they HAD IT IN BAG! - due to their preparation for their Tsunami of voter turn out - which it was - AND STILL Loosening the whole thing so decisively... yes, it was shocking beyond anything they could have imagined... (gains in Senate and the house), and then adding salt to the wound, defeating homosexuals so soundly in 9 states across the country and by none other than the Evil's brigades, otherwise known as Christians....................... YES, IT HAS TO BE TREMENDOUSLY PAINFUL TO THE POINT OF DESPAIR......

"Bush gala has big donations pouring in [It's a disgrace... biggest criminals 'listed']"

1. Silva didn't get an invitation.
2. Like, Kerry would have had a subdued inauguration, and there would not have been lots of Hollywood scum and big donors present.

If it were a staggeringly expensive, star-dazzling Kerry Gala, these klunks in the "Media" would be slobbering all over themselves with glee.

The most obnoxious thing about these people is that they are so obvious.
