GOP To Challenge Lynch (NH GOP trying to recuit Freeper to turn NH from "Blue" to "Red")

Well, I wasn’t going to post for the rest of the year, but then came this little cutie about yours truly. Seems some folks in my home state of New Hampshire are agitating for me to move back.

From the Union Leader:

ON THANKSGIVING, we reported that Republican Bruce Keough was already actively laying the groundwork for a challenge of John Lynch for governor in 2006. (And Lynch hasn't even taken office yet!)

Now, on Christmas Eve, we can report that Keough's troops are moving quickly to try to make the Republican State Committee a top-notch, professional organization before his campaign begins.

After years of having less than seasoned people in the executive director's position, Keough's friends are actively recruiting veteran political operative Patrick Hynes to return "home" from his lucrative Washington consulting position.

Keough is not personally involved, but he is aware of the effort and has not tried to discourage it.

Hynes, a Laconia native, got to know Keough well in 2002 as a media consultant for GOP congressional candidate Sean Mahoney. The middle man was veteran operative David Carney, who ran both Mahoney's and Keough's '02 campaigns.

Hynes has been familiar with New Hampshire GOP politics since interning at the state committee during the Steve Merrill administration. He has also been the state party's political director.

Hynes has not yet agreed to anything, and the sticking point is money.

The job pays in the $40,000 range. Hynes is in — or close to — six figures at the Washington firm of Marsh, Copsey and Scott.

One option being contemplated by the recruiters to mitigate the big pay cut is to give him a percentage of funds he raises for the state committee. But, unlike Pedro Martinez, Hynes will not get his own personal aircraft.

What do you think folks? Think I can turn that blue state red again?

Hey wait … they forgot to mention I’m a rising star.

Libs have been moving into the Granite State for some years now. Vermont is as good as gone. Whither New Hampshire?

In the past year or so, many very well off lesbians and gays have left our two county area and moved to NH, Vermont and Maine.

These new comers to those states bring money, talent and the ability to use political power for their agendas. Small states are very vulnerable to their money, power and ability to impact politicians in closed door sessions. They basically have ruined the economy of Oregon with their tax and spend agendas and personal agendas.
