CIA's private jet an open secret in terror war (Another MSM Critique of CIA Prisoner Treatment)
Washington Post ^ | 12/27/2004 | Dana Priest

Posted on 12/27/2004 2:34:00 AM PST by drt1

The airplane is a Gulfstream V turbojet, the sort favored by CEOs and celebrities. But since 2001 it has been seen at military airports from Pakistan to Indonesia to Jordan, sometimes being boarded by hooded and handcuffed passengers....In this case, the agency is flying captured terrorist suspects from one country to another for detention and interrogation....

Yet another MSM critique of the need to treat Terroists seriously. Perhaps they would prefer we give them milk and cookies and send them home with a note to their parents. /sarcasm

Too bad they can't accidentally leave the door ajar, and have one (or all) of those nasty-arses fall out...

Hey, Dana, saying something is an "open secret" doesn't make it so.

Just ask Bob Novak.

The MSM would be satisfied if we issued the terrorists a ticket and they promised to show up in court.

I've read the article now and I have to say something else is going on here. Dana Priest and the WP are playing just a bit too dumb. Dana, especially, has to know about these things. Over the past two or three years she has had almost unlimited access to Military Combatant Commanders in writing her books. She spent a considerable amound of time riding around with Gen Zinni when he was CENTCOM Commander. This reminds me of the time about ten years ago when Sen Deconcini revealed the existence of the NRO buildings out in Chantilly. Stay tuned.

They're finally getting around to that.

It's a good thread:

"Perhaps they would prefer we give them milk and cookies and send them home with a note to their parents."

The MSM would only be satisfied if the milk and cookies were served by a team of the finest lawyers. Don't you know, terrorists should be afforded the finest legal aid available.

My opinion is that this article was presented to her as a package. The information is a little too good for a Washington reporter to have developed alone. She is probably being a cat'spaw.

Ping to an old but interesting story from a dubious source... being resurrected by a "serious source" for political use...

Whatever the true motive for publishing this info now is, Priest and the WP have probably cut themselves off from some reliable sources in DOD and the Intel community. Hopefully, anyway.

LOL - The lawyers would be sure everyone gets equal portions of milk and cookies and that the letter was responsive to the cultural and ethnic sensitivities of these animals. Wouldn't want to damage their pride and self esteem. /sarcasm
