I've read the article now and I have to say something else is going on here. Dana Priest and the WP are playing just a bit too dumb. Dana, especially, has to know about these things. Over the past two or three years she has had almost unlimited access to Military Combatant Commanders in writing her books. She spent a considerable amound of time riding around with Gen Zinni when he was CENTCOM Commander. This reminds me of the time about ten years ago when Sen Deconcini revealed the existence of the NRO buildings out in Chantilly. Stay tuned.

My opinion is that this article was presented to her as a package. The information is a little too good for a Washington reporter to have developed alone. She is probably being a cat'spaw.
