The funny thing is, after 2000 libs demanded the elimination of chads so the country moved to an electronic voting system. After the 2004 elections libs have demanded printed records to deter fraud, which makes one think they had buyers' remorse in getting rid of the chads. No matter what is done to reform the voting system, there's just no pleasing them.

I do not know David Lytel personally, but I know something about his family and childhood (he has a sister who is the same age as my sister, and they were schoolmates and friends from fourth grade through high school graduation). He grew up about three streets from me.

I won't go into details, but he had an extremely tragic and traumatic childhood. Even though he is basically a democrat "crazy," I simply cannot feel anything but pity for him. If I had had his childhood, I'd be a basket case.

It's odd. I know a little boy who's mom was killed in a car accident around this time last year. He's 10 years old. His dad put a radio in his room to wake him up every morning. He happened to set it to the NPR station, so for the past year, this fifth-grader has been waking up every morning to "Morning Edition."

He's now a liberal. He gave my wife a big speech about how she was contributing to global warming while she was driving him (and some other kids) somewhere in our SUV.

Obviously just two anecdotal cases, but fwiw I'm convinced that those who have been traumatized by life are far more likely to become liberals than conservatives. Maybe that's obvious.

David Lytel, founder of ReDefeatBush.com, served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during the first Clinton administration.

IOWs Lytel is such a flaming nutter that even Sick Willy had to kick him to the curb. Try to imagine what kind of freakazoid it would take to embarrass The Commander In Briefs.
