"U.S. politicians urge probe of Cdn. feed"

Beth Gorham

Canadian Press

January 6, 2005

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "U.S. Representative Henry Waxman and Senator Kent Conrad said regulators have discovered animal material in Canadian feed over the last 15 months, issuing import alerts to block products from 17 companies.

Recent inspections have revealed seven Canadian feed mills had "major non-compliance issues" and three were failing to prevent contamination of cattle feed, they said."

That is, IMO, criminal. The feed we buy for our steers is American made. It's also obvious, just by looking at it, that it is pure corn from one bag and a mixture of oats and barley from the other bag. Also get our hay from a local rancher. The feed is for winter. In the summertime they are out in the pasture. Nothing like home grown beef.
