I know. When I got home from work I figured Fox News would be covering it and there would be an update. Couldn't find anything so I searched the wire services and read that 8 people died. I was shocked that I hadn't heard it anywhere. FR is the only source besides the local SC stations.
Very sad indeed.

"Chemical Freight Trains Collide in S.C."
Thursday, January 06, 2005
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "GRANITEVILLE, S.C. A freight train carrying chlorine gas (search) struck a parked train early Thursday, killing eight people and injuring at least 200 others, nearly all of them sickened by a toxic cloud that persisted over this small textile town at nightfall.
Authorities ordered all 5,400 people within a mile of the crash to evacuate in the afternoon because chlorine was continuing to leak and the gas was settling near the ground as temperatures dropped. They were unsure when the gas leak might be sealed."
