While we're at it, has anybody been down with a really nasty stomach virus? It knocked me on by rear last Monday, then I found out that not only was it going around, but animals were suffering the same symptoms, especially dogs.
How often do virii cross species like that?

I'm halfway done with a regimen of 2000mgs of Amoxicillian a day and some other nifty drugs. My wife just came down with it and she's miserable and the dog....? Snoring blissfully.
I'm still several hundred posts behind and reading frantically to catch up, but I had to comment on this re: cross-infections between humans and animals. New Year's Day I had to take my 1-year-old Schipperke to the emergency vet with a nasty eye infection, sneezing, & congestion. I started to get sick New Year's night, went down-hill from there and went to the emergency room myself Monday night, fearful I had pneumonia. Turns out I have a nasty case of bronchitis with secondary sinus infection. The dog is much better after antiobiotic ointment for his eyes, but I'm on antibiotics for 14 days. I found the timing to be strange.
