tourists-terrorists almost look and sound the same.
I guess it's hard to tell the difference outside those nuclear plants.
;-(
Hey you know they could build a viewing platform or something for all the terrorists errr tourists to film from.
Happy New Year to you, too!
A trip to the North Woods sounds like a perfect getaway for ringing in 2005 :) :)
Hope it is a good year for all of us!
"The heightened alert was eased shortly after the Nov. 2 election, and there is no evidence a potential attack ever moved beyond initial planning."
BUT, I wonder how in the heck they can be sure of that!!
Surveillance of a potential target can occur as little as one week to as much as three years prior to an attack," the bulletin said.
I never heard that statement and we followed that pretty closely.

Regarding the laser beam story you all have been following, is the Colorado Springs event a new one?
In Colorado Springs, Colo., Monday night, two pilots reported green pulsating laser lights shined into their cockpits. Both the passenger plane and a cargo plane landed without problems.

Reading the entire transcript has been... illuminating, in light of the mind-set I have cultivated due to TM in the years since the crash took place.
If he originally intended to crash the plane into something, he seems to have changed his mind before he took over the controls, as there was no veering off course, only the severe plunge in altitude after calmly stating "I rely on God" -- a phrase he repeated 10 more times. But your theory may be correct, since he took over the controls much earlier than expected, and over the protest of the original pilot.
My own personal theory leans more towards mass murder of the passengers on board. Why? I don't know, but this pilot was ex-Egyptian Air Force who later became a flight instructor at a government-run training facility. There were 33 Egyptian military personnel on board, 28 returning to Egypt from training in the US. Five had been here on "personal business." The group included four Air Force officers, two brigadier-generals, a colonel and a major. There were also at least two Army major-generals, one brigadier, four colonels and two lieutenant-colonels. Those are some pretty stacked numbers, especially since they had trained in such disparate places as Boston; Ft. Rucker, AL; CA and FL.
Most disturbing to me was that three of the officers went on board the plane WITHOUT BEING CHECKED IN, and this fact was discussed in the cockpit. There was never any explanantion offered for this, by either the NTSB or Egyptian officials.
Ah well, much like Flight 800, unless there is a private investigation, we will never know for sure what took place. But if you ever want an interesting read, dig through the NTSB reports and read the full transcript from the CVR.
I'd be interested in reading it. What is the CVR?
cockpit voice recorder?
Cockpit Voice Recorder.
Go here: http://www.ntsb.gov/publictn/2002/AAB0201.pdf and click on Attachment A. Although reading the whole thing is pretty fascinating. There were several other discussions in the cockpit that were interesting, including the one about someone "comes aboard and doesn't have any document that says that he should board." From what I can gather, this was stated by the original pilot. He also is not pleased with the relief co-pilot wanting to take over when he does.
Thanks.
Fox breaking....bomb on bus Norfolk Naval Airbase.

Person Threatens to Detonate Explosive Device at Norfolk Naval Station
By Associated Press
NORFOLK, VA -- A bus has been driven onto Norfolk Naval Station, Norfolk, VA. The person on
board is threatening to detonate an explosive device. The bus arrived about an hour ago. More details to come.
Aye, CALIPSO. Hmmmmm......
"...dressed all in red...".
Hmmmmm. First I've heard of that also. I don't know what the significance is, but my guess (and it's only a guess), would be that it's some pre-martyr thing, much like the body-shaving thing.
Perhaps ME-types "dressed all in red" should be given extra scrutiny?
Here's an update on the story. The caller's threat seems vague. Stated that a lot of people are going to die and referenced the number 936. They searched the bus numbered 936. I'm wondering if the call was a warning about something that is going to happen -- maybe tomorrow. Can you read anything into the significance of #936?
Norfolk Cops Report Bus Bomb Threat
Thursday, December 30, 2004
NORFOLK, Va. Authorities halted two buses Thursday outside the Norfolk Naval Station (search) after an unidentified caller mentioned a bus and warned city police, "a lot of people are going to die."
An undetermined number of passengers were removed from the buses, base spokeswoman Jennifer Carl said.
The buses, which had been en route to the base, were diverted to the nearby Fleet Recreational Park, where authorities searched them for bombs, Carl said.
The caller referred to a Hampton Roads Transit (search) bus and the Navy base early Thursday morning and cited the number 936, she said.
"The caller said, 'A lot of people are going to die,"' Carl said.
Uncertain whether the number was a time or a bus number, authorities at the base gate stopped bus No. 936 and another bus that tried to enter at 9:36 a.m., she said.
The naval station is the largest U.S. naval base anywhere in the world.
