ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A federal grand jury has indicted an Ellicott City couple on charges of employing illegal aliens and laundering money at their frozen food businesses.
The grand jury Friday indicted Bao Ping Wang, 38, and his wife, Trang Lu, 40. Wang and Lu face charges of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens, employment of illegal aliens and money laundering. Wang and Lu owned and operated wholesale frozen food suppliers Chang Jiang Seafood Supplier Inc. and Arctic Seafood Inc., which sold to Chinese restaurants and groceries in Baltimore, Atlanta and other cities, according to the indictment."
All good questions MamaD. As my husbands says - If I could be king for one month...
Certainly not - they're saving that for their next "comic book."
A doctorate in bats. Now I've heard of everything. Good luck Jill.
Small faces US court January 31
Jamaat al Muslimeen member Clive Lancelot Small will appear before a US district court judge in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, on January 31 to face gun-running charges.
It is possible that he will be arraigned on this appearance.
However, Small filed a motion for continuance which is pending before the court.
Small, also known as Olive Enyahooma El, is being held at the Federal Detention Center in downtown Miami and has already appeared before a federal magistrate in Ft Lauderdale, Miami.
He made his first court appearance soon after his deportation to the US on gun-running charges, last November.
Small was indicted by a US grand jury on May 23, 2002, on charges of conspiracy to possess firearms and possession of firearms, contrary to the laws of the US.
The charges arose out of an alleged plot in May, 2001, to import 60 AK-47 assault rifles and ten Mac-10 machine-guns with silencers into T&T.
The US is relying on evidence from accomplice witness Keith Andre Glaude, who was arrested in a sting operation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 30, 2002.
Small is alleged to be an agent of Glaude.
Glaude pleaded guilty to the offences and has been sentenced to two years jail.
That's what I said...probably has Lurch for a roommate! (But did seem to know quite a bit about bats!)

Clothing and shoe manufacturers complain that theyre unable to compete with lower cost goods imported mainly from China.
Institute for War & Peace Reporting By Mohammad Jawad Sharifzada in Kabul (ARR No. 158, 20-Jan-05)
Three months ago, Latif Sediqi decided to invest 70,000 US dollars to expand his 20-year-old tailoring business. His business Latif Sediqis Tailoring Company employed 14 workers and produced 10 suits a day. He charged, on average, about 30 dollars, 1,600 afghanis, per suit.
But because of foreign competition, Sediqi finds himself with 300 unsold suits and has been forced to shut down his business. Because of the Chinese suits available in the market, we have not been able to sell even one suit, " said Sediqi. Suits manufactured in China sell for an average price of 20 dollars, 1,000 afghanis, in Afghanistan.
The story of domestic producers losing business when cheaper foreign exports flood the market has been told in capitalist economies the world over. Now some of Kabuls small manufacturers are telling similar tales.
Tailors and shoemakers located in the centre of Kabul, most of whom had about 10 years experience in their trade, told IWPR that they have been losing business, and in some cases their jobs, because of the influx of cheaper Chinese goods. They say while they make a better quality product, they cant compete on price. China is the main exporter of clothing and shoes to Afghanistan.
Haji Ghulam Hassan Rawshan, head of the handicraft and export development department in the ministry of commerce, said that the Chinese imports are a serious threat to local small businessmen. "It will be a severe blow to our local producers if action isn't taken," he said.
Rawshan said he would appeal to the new commerce minister to impose a ban on all imports from China. Sardar, a Kabul shoemaker in business for 10 years, sits on a table drinking tea with three of his associates in his12-square-metre shop. He has plenty of time for breaks these days. Chinese merchandise has paralysed our product completely. The shoes the traders are importing are really without quality but people buy them because they are cheap," he said. "Our people, with their closed eyes, prefer buying goods that have."
Sardar said his shoes sell for about eight dollars, 400 afghanis, while those from China are sold for three dollars, 150 afghanis. Waseh, 37, the owner of a second-hand shoe store in Kabul, also complained that Chinese shoes are of low quality and dont last long, but they are showy. They are made of plastic, which causes feet to sweat and smell."
But Mustafa Kazemi, the outgoing minister of commerce, defended the governments current policy on imports. He said the commerce minister must create the right [economic] conditions so that poor people can afford to buy merchandise from the bazaar, and stop the prices from going sky high.
SNIP: New route for illegals
Three people have been arrested at Tours airport for trying to enter the UK illegally. Two men and a woman, all from Africa, were caught after being found in possession of fake documents while attempting to board a Ryanair flight to London, Stansted.
A spokesman for the police said this problem has been exacerbated by cheap flights between French airports and the UK.
I hope you can get them out of your attic soon - I don't believe I'd be comfortable knowing they were in my home either. I know the environmentalists encourage keeping "batboxes" for them to hang around in, but I saw enough of them flying low in Phoenix to ever want to be any closer to them that that! I get traumatized seeing as much as a mouse.
Hi Skeggs!!!!
Thanks for the PM. From the sound of it, the entire country of Mexico wants to be here. Too bad we can't make it another state, clean it up and enlist the young Mexican gang members into their own "clean up the jihadi insurgents in Iraq or go directly to prison" fighting team. From the sound of it, we're supporting half their country anyway LOL!
Here is the link to listen to the Roth show online. It looks to be an interesting show tonight.

I think this article is of interest to the readers of this thread:
Yahoo Hosted Al Qaeda Terror Group Apparently Pulled Days Prior To Iraqi Elections
http://www.americandaily.com/article/6576
However, one apparent major purveyor of terror appears to be off line at least for the moment.
Yahoo group Global Islamic Media (GIM) which has been on and off line in the last few months (but which until Jan. 18/19 2005 was online at http://thisway.to/jabha and
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/markazislamiilami)
was continuing to post regular messages as well as links to a variety of terror related materials.
While an e-mail requesting comment to Yahoo requesting comment about the company's continuing hosting of this group was not answered, the site was apparently taken off line somewhere between 12 and 15 hours after the Jan. 18 e-mail was sent.
Yep.
Mr. Reynalds is always on top of thing.
Thanks for the post Fair Opinion.
correction: top of things...
Thank you.
One of these days, I will be able to listen on line.
Thank you tmp02 for finding the reports that I had heard on the radio.
It feels as tho we have taken a step back in time.
