The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

This is some more of the keep us busy and drive us crazy before they hit big time. I am really worried about Sam's.

Of the 3 major airports I live near. Anyone could use a SAM and they would never find them.

Iran and Osama: Match Made In Hell

1/16/2005

By Ryan Mauro
While the world remains fixated on the situation in Iraq, the Bush Administration seems equally concerned with Iran. As the world’s most intense (in quantity and quality) sponsor of international terrorism, and a rogue state in search of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, the specter of an alliance between Al-Qaeda terrorists and the fundamentalist Iran is indeed a scary one. Accusations by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and President Bush show that this is indeed the case. This article will examine if the evidence has been stretched or even falsified

Another take on todays report. My apologies if this particular article has been posted.

Terrorists likely to use biological weapons against U.S., report says
Shadowy Islamic groups may do much work online
Jan 14, 2005

WASHINGTON - Terrorist organizations resembling al-Qaida, but more decentralized and increasingly sophisticated, are likely to employ biological agents such as anthrax and smallpox against the United States and other perceived enemies over the next 15 years, according to a sweeping intelligence report released yesterday.

"The bioterrorist's laboratory could well be the size of a household kitchen, and the weapon built there could be smaller than a toaster," said the report by the National Intelligence Council, which advises the director of central intelligence and is based at CIA headquarters outside Washington. "Terrorist use of biological agents is therefore likely, and the range of options will grow."

Equiping hospitals is one thing. Being able to execute use of the equipment is another. Local hospital had a situation where their decon tent had to be erected and used. Picture the Keystone Cops in action, a total cluster in responding to the event. The best plans and equipment are useless unless there is constant drill and training.

It is tempting to don the tin foil and see the hand of AQ in every unusual event. However I wonder that since energy companies have been deregulated, are they spending thier capital more on market speculation rather than doing routine preventative maintainance on thier infrastructure? The old profit ahead of public safety thing.
