I saw some Government Flack on TV today try to spin out of this and Dismiss Michelle's report. I didn't buy it and it is a shame that he and his ilk keep their jobs.

The dress code for FAM work on planes should be one word: Clean.

"I didn't buy it and it is a shame that he and his ilk keep their jobs." Dumbasses get promoted because they don't make waves. It is the way that Federal, State, and Local Government agencies operate. And if something happens, these people are expert at deflecting blame.

These are the SAME dress codes that Airline workers, friends and family members MUST meet in order to be considered to be seated in
First Class. These seats are considered to be for people who paid a premium to sit there, and these people usually dress well. The airline expects
non-paying passengers who are either family, friends or airline employees to dress this way, if they wish to be among the group 'bumped' to first class.
Now, IMHO, Air Marshals would be more effective in First Class, as they have more room to maneuver and are closer to the cockpit. Thus, if the Air Marshal's job requires him to be dressed to sit in the First Class Area, the dress code that applies to all "non-revenue" generating passengers should appl to him.
Naturally, if you paid to sit in First Class, you can dress in any fashion you wish. However, it is always thought to be crass to wear a sweatshirt in First Class.

The dress code for Mr.Quinn should be a straight jacket and a gag.

I have been on a number of flights in the past year and have always been able to pick out the FAM on board. I could almost laugh about this but it's too too true they might just as well wear their badges on their jacket pockets.

"In addition to ADM 3702, male dress attire will consist of at a minimum, an appropriate sport coat (conservative in nature/style, color and fabric) that is readily available and worn by the FAM while on mission and in travel status...It is not acceptable to carry a sport coat in the FAMs travel bag. Appropriate dress also may include collared sport or Polo type shirts or banded type necks (turtle or crew neck). Pants and or slacks must be clean and pressed and may not include denim of any color, nylon or other similar material, or cargo style pants. Appropriate footwear and socks shall be worn. Athletic shoes, sneakers, sandals or hiker/training boots are not allowed. Likewise, athletic sock will not be worn with dress shoes."

The entire mission is a complete failure and the American traveling public is as ineffectively protected as they were before 9-11. Quinn needs to be duct-taped to Mineta and the pair pushed out at altitude.
The bottom line is security, not CYA & PC.
Michelle Malkin has more intelligence and testosterone than these schmucks combined.

His preoccupation with the Marshals' dress may indicate, perhaps, that Mr. Quinn is just a little light in the regulation loafers.

My $.02.
Security on airplanes, or in airports, should be the responsibility of the owners.
If I was in charge of an Airline (or airplane, for that matter), I would guarantee the passenger's safety from terrorist hijack, or any other in-cabin threat.
How? Simple.
Every person, suitcase, bag, wallet, etc. would be physically searched by my own security.
I know, I know, (some)people would complain about "privacy violations", blah,blah,blah..)
My answer to that is: Your privacy does not extend to MY airplane. If you don't like it, fly another airline. They won't be as safe as we are.
I would also have armed guards on every flight. They would be indistinguishable from normal passengers.
If private property rights existed on airplanes, then airlines could guarantee the safety of passengers from hijackings.
If they didn't care about the safety of passengers, they would not remain in business.
And they could be held responsible for failing. After all, isn't the driver of a car held responsible for the actions of his or her passengers?

Those of you who choose to 'push the envelope' regarding the appearance and dress code, do so at great risk.Great risk? GREAT RISK? ("I think we've slipped down the rabbit hole" said Alice.)

"You will not be forgotten."
Is that the final e-mail to Michelle, implying a threat to her?
