SEATTLE (AP) - Democrat Christine Gregoire has won the Washington governor's race by 130 votes over Republican Dino Rossi, according to final recount results from King County.

King County was the last county to report in the statewide hand recount, the third count of ballots in the governor's election. The election results have not been certified and probably will be challenged in court.

The McCloskey-McIntyre race is very germane for many reasons. Remember how tortured the 'Rat-sponsored re-counts were? They tried one tactic, and when it didn't work, they "re-counted" the ballots with another standard, until they got the result they wanted. The most egregious one, as I recall, had the 'Rats look at those ballots that required the voter to mark an "x" in the box next to the candidate's name. The instructions were to mark the "x" in the box. They ended up rejecting any ballot where the marks of the "x" strayed outside the boundaries of the box. That allowed them to reject just enough votes for McIntyre to get McCloskey an eight-vote "win".

But the follow-up is instructive, too. Remember the 'Cans set up a McIntyre-McCloskey rematch in '86, using the "remember McIntyre" rallying cry. McIntyre got clobbered. Two reasons. One was that by '86, a lot of people had "Reagan fatigue", and were out to "punish" him, according to the pundits. I'm not sure we may not see something like that in '06, with a "Bush fatigue" syndrome, as the mainstream press will call it. We lost the Senate that year as well. The other was McCloskey had another term to bring home the pork.

That's why Rossi has to fight like hell on this egregious theft of a "recount". Once a lousy, rotten, stinking 'Rat gets in there, they stay dug in, like an Alabama tick. Lousy, rotten, stinking 'Rats have no shame, they only crave power. They won't care that they won office by theft and cheating, nor will they care about the sheeple remembering. Four years is a lifetime in politics, and Gregoire and the 'Rats will have that time to patch things up by doing what they do best, dumping public largess on the sheeple to buy their votes.

But the dems were for a STATEWIDE recount, so all parts of the state could have its votes counted accurately..

You either watch too much Michael Moore propaganda, or you are him. a recount which by the way when done by the newspapers afterwards showed that gore did in fact win...

Absolutely a lie. Not one recount ever showed Gore as the winner.

There is no way to wrench power from these people. They have their own judges.

This is a power reserved for the KKK, how dare you imply that they would give it over to someone else.</sarcasm>

How many cases are ther in the United Startes where they have been hacked?

How would you ever know? That is the whole point. They just gin up a candidate with some phony polls and lo and behold they turn out to be the winner.

Tennessee, where I live, has used the touch screen machines for about the last 15 years with no challenges from anybody.

Exactly how would you go about challenging a handful of nothing?

The computer code used to tally these things is an absolute secret, the only way to make it transparent is to make it open source so the whole world can see. Uh, by the way don't hold your breath for that one.

I think absentee voting should be available to everyone;

Wrong!!!! The source of most vote fraud in this country should be outlawed.

I see a lot of comical one liners making light of what is happening here. Maybe I just have no sense of humor. But this, in my opinion, is VERY VERY serious stuff and should be treated as such. We can't allow this continue, or it will just get worse.

I wanna fight this. Who do I email?

Those of you who have called this a travesty..C'mon...Let's get the ball a rolling.

Welcome to the Washington state gulag and re-education center.

Last night I had a nightmare. I dreamed that I traded in my F-250 Diesel truck on a Subaru, told my wife she did not need to wear makeup or shave under her arms, and thought about distilling all my political philosophy into a bumper sticker. I need help.

1. What's you point?
2. Wrong. There may have been some "legitimate" ballots in the mix, but they were spoiled be the broken chain of transfer. Your assertion is irrelevant and stoopit.
3. Wrong again (starting a trend?) Rossi legitimately won - TWICE!
4. 'rat bastards have NEVER been for election reform - just election tampering.
5. Wait and see, grasshopper.

Oh, and BTW: enjoy your stay here....I believe it will be a short one

I have a question for you. Do you think the Washington State Attorney General has the independent authority to investigate crimes in the state of Washington or investigate crimes committed by a county prosecutor?

That is false. Where did you get this information? What newspapers? The only recounts I heard of (from the Miami Herald and some other papers) all showed GWB winning.

http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3aca62e46722.htm

If it were the case that Gore would have won, there would be no stopping the MSM from trumpeting these claims for the past four years.

People are right to regard this as a grave matter.

We have a two-party system, in which both parties are regarded as legitimate, but one habitually engages in criminal fraud.

How to solve this dilemma? I think it will require a stroke of genius to come up with a solution, and I'm fresh out.

Independent bodies to recount? But who? Even if we selected a board of tribesmen from the Kalahari, we couldn't be sure they were impartial.

Military oversight? Would work, but there are probably insurmountable constitutional issues.

Judicial oversight? Corrupt judges would make that an exercise in futility.

We (and by "we," I mean people smarter than me) need to set the gray cells to firing and come up with a workable strategy. Then, after one is developed, the rest of us can start agitating to have it implemented.

So...proposals?

No, the Democrats recounted until they could steal enough votes.

.

We all feel this way. Unfortunately this is a sign that the Demos have thoroughly baffled and intimidated us. IMHO, the solution is strong to the point of possibly violent LOCAL corrective action.

On the civilized front, Writs of Mandamus to force elected officials and the police to do their jobs and enforce existing laws would certainly help, and well before election time. A little punishment is also long overdue for vote cheaters. Governor Richardson and should be in jail along with Martha Stewart.

Also unfortunately, this has become, by design of the Demos, a racial matter. They construe any election law enforcement as "anti-black." Which of course, it is. That is because they black precincts are the key to their control of the polls. Majority African-American Districts in large cities are just as corrupt, but a lot more sophisticated in their corruption, as Lagos, Nigeria or Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Of course, the large cities can swing any state unfortunate enough to have them.

I am terribly afraid that the Republican answer to this problem is unbridled Latino Immigration, in the clearly fatuous hope that these people from neigboring republics to the south and further south will be the new "Italians," and eventually support the Republicans, diluting the black vote. The Latinos already outnumber blacks, will soon outnumber everybody else, and so far are solidly backing the Demos.

I would much rather see Karl Rove and the gang go to plan "B" to back vigorous enforcement of the election laws. That's why they are there. When Ashcroft put DOJ monitors on elections in Maryland and Missouri, the Republicans got a straight(er) count and won. Lesson there?
