SEATTLE (AP) - Democrat Christine Gregoire has won the Washington governor's race by 130 votes over Republican Dino Rossi, according to final recount results from King County.

King County was the last county to report in the statewide hand recount, the third count of ballots in the governor's election. The election results have not been certified and probably will be challenged in court.

An election stolen in the dead of night as it were...

I agree, they stole another one.

The Democrats are destroying our institutions, the ones that keep us relying on the ballot box instead of the ammo box.

But they could care less.

That's why I hate them so much.

The same-day sign-up "Gregorie won" trolls are persistent, aren't they?

If the reason you hate democrats, is because you believe they are trying to rig elections...then get on the election reform bandwagon. Support statewide uniform voting standards (like the 14th amendment demands) Support transparent elections(optical scan ballots, like the ones used in Washington), Support human inspection of the machine rejected ballots! Support all this..and you will get very positive praise from lefties like me.

Silly liberal, I'm not debating you; I'm educating you. Pay attention.

The McCloskey-McIntyre "recount" debacle is quite germaine to what is happening in Washington state today. I suggest you go read up on it.

However, because you're a liberal and care little for history, I'll provide you with a Cliff Notes version: McCloskey(D) was seated by a vote in the House despite an initial count plus a recount showing that McIntyre(R) had won. Anyone with half a brain knew that the game had been fixed, but what could poor McIntyre do? The Dems had a comfortable majority in the House at that time, and the Republicans were content to funnel pork back to their districts and play golf with old Tip and his buddies.

So McIntyre graciously conceded, and McCloskey went back to Washington.

Meanwhile, back home in the district, moderates and independents began to awaken to the corruption endemic to the Democrat party. Furthermore, the Republican base was finally spurred into action and began to organize.

Within a few short election cycles, McCloskey was unseated by an unknown right winger named John Hostettler (now one of the most conservative members of Congress, a sort of mini-Ashcroft). Yhe so-called "Bloody 8th," which was once a true battleground, is now solidly Republican.

And do you know what the rallying cry was when Gingrich engineered the Republican victories in 1994? "Remember McIntyre"

So...by all means, proceed with your theft of this election. In doing so, you'll be signing the death warrant of the Washington Democrat party.

And from here in solidly red Indiana, I for one will enjoy watching the execution!

No, it's very simple. The Democrats are pulling out the Palm Beach County playbook from 2000: target a county where you know you have the newly-divined "votes" to put you over the top, apply a different vote counting standard to that county, and then exclude all other counties from using the same standard.

This baby is going to the USSC.

I feel bad for Rossi, who is apparently the latest victim of the Democrat putsch machine, but the Republicans may actually benefit from this in the long run.

I, for one, hope the USSC stays out of this one. Let the Washington state Democrats stake their entire future on Gregoire. It is a wonderful opportunity to do in Washington what we succeded in doing in Iowa and New Mexico.

You people pulled this exact same stunt here in the 8th congressional district of Indiana about 20 years ago. Tip O'Neil was still running the House like a personal fiefdom, and he simply held "recount" after "recount" until the Democrat, Frank McCloskey magically found enough "votes" to win.
Do you remember that?

Would you like to hear how things turned out, then?

yes, please tell us, how did the old chipster cheat? as all demoncrapts do???? should be a good one.

Actually in florida 2000, while its true the democrats did focus on palm beach,

for obvious reasons
a) lots of dems,
b) lots of under-over-votes

But the dems were for a STATEWIDE recount, so all parts of the
state could have its votes counted accurately...
a recount which by the way when done by the newspapers afterwards showed that gore did in fact win...

it was Gore arguing the whole state should be treated equally and recounted equally.

This history I am aware of.

the history of the 8th district, I dont know, if it was stolen thats a shame, when I get a chance Ill look it up...
but Washington State absolutely was not stolen this year.

Oh yeah and the Washington State Democrats argued in court
that EVERY county not only King County should be able to go double check that they did not discard votes incorrectly by mistake.

Back in the day, FR was a little more permissive of liberals coming in and mixing it up with us. I actually miss that. Unfortunately, you will be banned soon, which will deprive us of the opportunity to point out the accumulating evidence of fraud and criminality in this eleciton.

Already, I'm seeing some photographic evidence of ballot tampering in King County.

Give it a couple of days, Zee2. There are only 2 possible outcomes:

1) The evidence of fraud and/or incompetence is so overwhelming that the results are thrown out,
2) Gregoire is able to get away with it, thereby ensuring major Republican gains in Washington over the next few years.

I'm fine with either one.

What is this election process teaching our children? That certified results don't really mean anything? Election results are corruptible? Laws are meaningless and what is important is that I win regardless of how? Communist agenda the end justifies the means!

Well, here's a brief look at the numbers of the 2 recounts (machine/ hand); (Just for Rossi/Grergoire)

Machine:
All other counties excluding King:
total votes 1,887,963 Change: +26 Rossi (0.001377%);
King: 856,963 Change : +245 gregoire (0.02859%)

Hand:
All other counties excluding King:
total votes: 1,889,094 Change +7 Rossi (0.0003705%);
King 857,500 change +179 gregoire (0.020875%)

Combined:
All other counties excluding King: total votes recounted: 3,777,058 +33 Rossi (0.00087369%)
King: 1,694,463 + 424 gregoire (0.0250227%)

So my quick math shows that the change rate in all other counties is just 35/1000ths of the change rate in the other counties.
Or this is to say, King county changed their votes by a factor of 286 times (or 2,864%) the rate that all other counties combined changed their votes.

Someone should be able to provide a "p" value for this change rate, and give a statistical probablity of this being a random event.

See ya'll,
take care,
Merry Christmas,

By eyeballing your numbers I can tell you it is extremely unlikely to be a random event..I am grad student in physics, so I have a good deal of competency when it comes to statistics...
that being said...proving it didn't happen by chance does not prove much. You would have to examine all factors that could cause King county to systemically find more votes.
