After having done a little time on board, IMHO all they need to do is turn him over to a Chief, and turn their heads for a few minutes. Old CPO's know full well how to handle problems like this. Whats left will then do time in the brig run by Marines. That will get his attention.
Oh they will, and since most of these organizations are updated versions of the same crud-types that were doing the same during the Vietnam war I feel safe in betting that there are already files on them.
866. ART. 86. ABSENCE WITHOUT LEAVE
Any member of the armed forces who, without authority--
(1) fails to go to his appointed place of duty at the time prescribed;
(2) goes from that place; or
(3) absents himself or remains absent from his unit, organization, or place of duty at which he is required to be at the time prescribed; shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
eeeeYUP! Two more to pile on.
I can understand that, but having some Marines kick this guy's ass is better than sitting around in a jail cell reading books. Leavenworth at hard labor works, too.
