SEATTLE, Dec. 22 - After a bitter and protracted recount fight in the Washington governor's race, elections officials announced Wednesday that the Democratic candidate, Christine O. Gregoire, was leading her Republican opponent by 10 votes - a minuscule margin but a stunning reversal of the Nov. 2 election results.
The preliminary results elated Democratic Party officials and came only hours after the party scored another victory, when the State Supreme Court agreed with the Democrats' contention that more than 700 newly discovered and erroneously disqualified ballots in heavily Democratic King County should now be considered.
Since those ballots came from a county where Ms. Gregoire, 57, already had a solid lead, the ruling could allow her to increase her extraordinarily tiny edge in a race that is the closest in state history and one of the closest in the nation's history.

Election fraud is often accepted by the public once the false "winner" is installed. People tend to rally around incumbents regardless of the circumstances of their election.

But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.

Stalin said something about counting all the votes, valid and invalid and an actor in Key Largo the movie said the same thing. You keep counting until you win. TAKE A LOOK AT FLORIDA. They are using Al Gore's playbook on how to steal an election and the Washington Supremes are happy to allow rejected ballots in. It makes me sick.

You need to get rid of that piece of junk and get a good browser.
I use Netscape, and I have very few problems.
Verizon includes IE6 and MSN software with it's ISP package, I refuse to use it.

Christine Gregoire, as A.G. for the State of Washington, was a joke.
Here's a decision made by Gregoire as Washington AG, back in 1996:
"Challenge of Ballots Not Allowed."
-"We are advised by the Attorney General that state law makes no provision for the challenge of ballots or voters (as provided in RCW 29.10.125) during the recount.
The recount procedure provided for by statute is a mechanical function of re-tallying the ballots cast and accepted as valid by the precinct election officers or the canvassing board during the canvass of the election. The decision of the canvassing board with respect to the inclusion or exclusion of a particular ballot during the canvass is not open to question during the recount."
-Gregoire was Attorney General at the time of this memo.
The King County Canvassing Board is 2 - 1 Democrat.
(Shades of Broward County)

"The state Supreme Court will in all likelihood settle the argument and thus determine who the winner is this coming week. Regardless of the outcome, there's now a growing number of people who believe the counting process in King County has been compromised. King County, after all, has a long history of incompetence in handling its elections and has now discovered "new" uncounted ballots nine times since Nov. 2--and there's still time for another surprise or two." Hmmm...sounds fishy...MUD

MurryMom quote: ..."so long as the loser pays for them."
Really MurryMom? Who's going to pay for all of this?
(From the Seattle Times):
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2002071957_gregoirepda25m.html
"Since Gregoire took office, the courts have ordered agencies represented by her office to pay nearly $500,000 for failing to turn over public records.
The largest case involved the Department of Health and Human Services' withholding of key documents from attorneys suing on behalf of boys abused at the OK Boys Ranch. Singling out a former department head and a senior attorney in Gregoire's office, a judge hammered the state for $417,500 in 1998.
Gregoire's office also was tagged for $33,000 in fines and fees in 1998 for not giving public documents to the Evergreen Freedom Foundation.
This past June, Gregoire and her private lawyers were sanctioned and reprimanded by a federal judge in Seattle for repeatedly failing to turn over documents in a lawsuit against the Attorney General's Office by a former assistant attorney general who claimed she had been wrongly blamed and fired for missing a deadline in an appeal, for which the state paid nearly $19 million."

The people in 'fly over country' are truly getting sick of these scum. I live in PA (a blue state), but in Butler (a very red county. They just don't get it. They just can't believe the FACT that they're in the minority.

You're a Washington state resident, aren't you?
Would you ping Washingtonians to this thread?
As an Oregonian (I can look across the Columbia river in Astoria, Or, and see your state) I've heard and read stories about how mismanaged her AG office has been.
Murrymom, as a liberal resident of PA, hasn't a clue.
Not that I care about informing her, but more for the right-minded folks on this thread...
Thanks

"They cheated and stole this one, but we will win again and even by more votes, because people are tired of this kind of Election fraud." I hate to see a Democrat get in there too, but is your statement a quote from a Liberal website, circa 2000?
I have no proof of fraud and so far, all I've seen are alegations. Knowing what I do about Washington politics, I wouldn't be surprised if the claims are true, but I don't think I would take my suspicions to court... Certainly not a Washington court anyway.

I've been following these developments in Washington some and it's a textbook case of bananna republic politics. The GOOD people of the state need to redouble their efforts to GOTV so the Rats can't get close enough to run their scams.
My question is, what are the state Pubbies gonna do about this? IMO, they are obligated to fight tooth and nail for the decent people that voted for them. Anything less would be an aberration and a dereliction of their duty to the electorate.
weegee, could you add me to the media ping list.
